ICC U19 Cricket World Cup Americas Qualifier (formerly ICC Americas Under-19 Championship) is an international cricket tournament contested by under-19 national teams from the ICC Americas region. The tournament has run bi-annually since 2001, occasionally with more than one division. The tournament serves as a qualification tournament for the Under-19 World Cup. Canada are by far the most successful team overall, winning seven titles, to the three won by the United States and the single title won by Bermuda. History Prior to the introduction of the Americas Under-19 Championship in 2001 there was no qualification route for associate and affiliate teams to the U-19 World Cup. As a result, the only Americas team represented in the 1998 competition was the full member, the West Indies. The 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup qualification was a series of regional qualification tournaments to determine the final five places at the 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Nepal became the first team to Qualify for 2024 Under-19 Cricket World Cup through the Qualifiers. The 2015 ICC Americas Under-19 Championship was an international cricket tournament held in Bermuda, from 5 to 11 July 2015. It was the eighth edition of the ICC Americas Under-19 Championship, and the first held in Bermuda since the inaugural tournament in 2001. Canada won the title for a fifth time, finishing the tournament undefeated to qualify directly for the 2016 Under-19 World Cup. The United States were the runner-up, finishing ahead of Bermuda on net run rate to proceed to the 2015 World Cup Qualifier, where the winner will also qualify for the World Cup. The tournament was originally going to involve a fourth team, Suriname, which would have been making its maiden appearance. The 2022 ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup qualification were a series of regional qualification tournaments to determine the final five places at the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Seven tournaments in five regions were scheduled to be played. In March 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic the Division 2 tournament in Asia had been cancelled. The Division 2 tournament in Africa was initially postponed, before it was also cancelled. In August 2021, the ICC also announced that the Americas, Asia, and EAP regional qualifiers had all been cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Papua New Guinea all qualified directly to the 2022 Under-19 Cricket World Cup based on their past performances in the last five regional qualifiers.
