ICCF Czech Republic is an ICCF national member federations. Creation of SKSvCR On January 1, 1993 the Correspondence Chess Association of the Czech Republic (SKSvCR) was founded. Achievements In the Sixteenth Olympiad (2010-2016) the Czech team took first place. In the Fourth Ladies Olympiad (1992-1997) the team received gold medals. Correspondence Chess
Correspondence chess is chess played by various forms of long-distance correspondence, traditionally through the postal system. Today it is usually played through a correspondence chess server, a public internet chess forum, or email. Less common methods that have been employed include fax, homing pigeon and phone. It is in contrast to (OTB) chess, where the players sit at a chessboard at the same time, or play each other in real time via the internet. Correspondence chess allows people or clubs who are geographically distant to play one another without meeting in person. These distant relationships are just one of the many distinct appeals of correspondence chess. The length of a game played by correspondence can vary depending on the method used to transmit moves: a game played via server or by email might last no more than a few days, weeks, or months; a game played by post between players in different countries might last several years. Czech Republic
The Czech Republic, or simply Czechia, is a landlocked country in Central Europe. Olympiad
An olympiad ( el, Ὀλυμπιάς, ''Olympiás'') is a period of four years, particularly those associated with the ancient and modern Olympic Games. Although the ancient Olympics were established during Greece's Archaic Era, it was not until Hippias that a consistent list was established and not until Ephorus in the Hellenistic period that the first recorded Olympic contest was used as a Epoch (reference date), calendar epoch. Roman Chytilek
Roman Chytilek (born 24 February 1976) is a Czech correspondence chess grandmaster, currently No.1 of International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF) rating list and winner of the 16th Olympiad (with the team Czech Republic). Personal life Chytilek holds a Ph.D. in political science and currently works as an Associate Professor and a Vice-Dean of Social Studies on the Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic. His field of expertise consists of party systems, electoral systems, experimental political science and game theory. Chytilek also likes competitive debates. He opposed direct election of Czech President and won a debate against upcoming Czech President Miloš Zeman who supported the bill, in December 2011. Jaroslav Ježek (chess Player)
Jaroslav Ježek (9 March 1926 – 1998) was a Czech chess player who held the ICCF title of International Correspondence Chess Grandmaster (1985). He was a European Team Chess Championship team medalist (1957). Biography In the 1950s Jaroslav Ježek was one of the leading Czechoslovak chess players. He repeatedly competed in the Czechoslovak Chess Championship finals. Eva Možná-Hojdarová
Eva Možná-Hojdarová (née Hojdarová, also Možná; born 30 October 1949) is a Czech chess player who holds the chess titles of Lady International Correspondence Chess Grand Master (LGM, 1996) and Woman FIDE Master (WFM, 1986). She is a three-time Czechoslovak Women's Chess Championship medalist (1972, 1975, 1978). Biography In the 1970s, Eva Možná-Hojdarová was one of the leading Czechoslovakian women's chess players. She has won three bronze medals in the Czech women's chess championships (1972, 1975, 1978).
