Interstate 290 (I-290) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway that runs westward from the Chicago Loop. The portion of I-290 from Interstate 294, I-294 to its east end is officially called the Dwight D. Eisenhower Expressway. In short form, it is known as "the Ike" or the Eisenhower. Before being designated the Eisenhower Expressway, the highway was called the Congress Expressway because of the surface street that was located approximately in its path and onto which I-290 runs at its eastern terminus in the Loop. I-290 connects Interstate 90 in Illinois, I-90 (Jane Addams Memorial Tollway) in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, Rolling Meadows with I-90/Interstate 94 in Illinois, I-94 (John F. Interstate 290 (I-290) is an auxiliary Interstate Highway in the US state of Massachusetts, maintained by the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT). Spanning approximately , it is signed as an east–west spur route of I-90 (Massachusetts Turnpike) in Central Massachusetts. The route begins in Auburn at I-90 as a northward continuation of I-395. It follows an L-shaped route, the nominally western half of which runs north into the city of Worcester, and, upon leaving the city, turns to the east to its eastern terminus at I-495 in Marlborough. Past I-495, the road continues as an unnumbered connector to the town of Hudson. Route description Exit numbers on I-290 are a continuation of I-395 exit numbers. It connects Interstate 190 (New York), I-190 in Tonawanda (town), New York, Tonawanda with Interstate 90 in New York, I-90 in Williamsville, New York, Williamsville, via Amherst, New York, Amherst. It provides a route to Niagara Falls, New York, Niagara Falls and Canada from the east that bypasses the city of Buffalo, New York, Buffalo. I-290 also connects to Interstate 990, I-990 and, through this connection, provides access to the Amherst campus of the University at Buffalo. Interstate 490 (I-490) is a auxiliary Interstate Highway in Cleveland, Ohio. The western terminus is a junction with I-90 and I-71 on Cleveland's west side. After spanning the Cuyahoga River, I-490 reaches its eastern terminus at a junction with East 55th Street, just east of I-77. Route description I-490 begins at a partial stack interchange with I-90/I-71 in the Cleveland neighborhood of Tremont. This interchange does not provide access from westbound I-490 to eastbound I-90 as well as from westbound I-90 to eastbound I-490. The Interstate then meets 7th Street in an incomplete partial cloverleaf interchange. The freeway then crosses over industries, railroads, and the Cuyahoga River. After that, the freeway meets State Route 14 (SR 14) and, at a stack interchange, I-77/ SR 10.
