The second season of the American Adult animation, adult animated television series ''Star Trek: Lower Decks'' is set in the 24th century and follows the adventures of the low-ranking officers with menial jobs on the starship ''Cerritos'', one of Starfleet's least important starships. The season was produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions in association with Secret Hideout, Important Science, Roddenberry Entertainment, and animation studio Titmouse, Inc., Titmouse, with Mike McMahan serving as showrunner and Barry J. Kelly as supervising director. Tawny Newsome, Jack Quaid, Noël Wells, and Eugene Cordero voice the lower decks crew members of the ''Cerritos'', with Dawnn Lewis, Jerry O'Connell, Fred Tatasciore, and Gillian Vigman providing voices for the ship's senior officers. Secret Hideout is a film and television production company founded in 2014 by Alex Kurtzman. It is notable for the recent incarnations of the ''Star Trek'' franchise with Roddenberry Entertainment. D'Vana Tendi
D'Vana Tendi, commonly known simply as Tendi, is a fictional character from the American science fiction television series ''Star Trek: Lower Decks''. She is the first Orion (Star Trek), Orion main character in a ''Star Trek'' show. Among Orions, she is known as the Mistress of the Winter Constellations. Tendi is voiced by Noël Wells. She also appeared in the animated portions of the 2023 ''Star Trek: Strange New Worlds'' crossover episode "Those Old Scientists". Characterization ''Lower Decks'' series creator Mike McMahan described Tendi as "hilarious and just a source of joy".
