I'm With Stupid (UK TV Series)
''I'm with Stupid'' is a British television programme starring Paul Henshall and Mark Benton. The series was created by BBC Comedy North. Peter Keeley was series consultant and it was written by Daniel Peak. The original pilot episode aired on BBC Three in March 2005. The main character, Paul, portrayed by disabled actor Paul Henshall, has cerebral palsy and Mark Benton's character, Sheldon, is a homeless man who Paul takes in to Bramble Lodge and offers him a place to stay. Bramble Lodge is a home for disabled people governed by Jean (portrayed by Ruth Jones). Peter Keeley (British Screenwriter)
Peter Keeley (born 1983 in Crumpsall Hospital) is a British screenwriter and author. He is the creator of the television series '' I'm with Stupid'', which aired on BBC Three, and for his book series ''The London Road Mysteries.'' Early life Keeley grew up in Crumpsall, Manchester, and wrote his first play ''The Role Model'' at the age of 14. The play focused a disabled boy who struggles to cope with various issues. He received the Scope Millennium Award to develop the play which was performed at Contact Theatre in Manchester where Keeley worked as a wheeling usher. Paul Henshall
Paul Henshall (born 1977 in Staffordshire) is a British actor. He uses a wheelchair because he has cerebral palsy. Paul is best known for playing the roles of medical student Dean West in ''Holby City'', and Paul in ''I'm With Stupid''. He has also had roles in ''A Thing Called Love'', ''Casualty'' and the film ''The Confusion of Tongues'' (2014). Mark Benton
Mark Benton (born 16 November 1965) is an English actor and television presenter known for his roles as Eddie in ''Early Doors'', Howard in '' Northern Lights'' and Martin Pond in '' Barbara''. Benton has also starred in the BBC One school-based drama series '' Waterloo Road'' as mathematics teacher Daniel "Chalky" Chalk from 2011 to 2014. The Wannadies is an alternative rock band formed in 1988 in Skellefteå, northern Sweden. Cerebral palsy (CP) is a group of movement disorders that appear in early childhood. Signs and symptoms vary among people and over time, but include poor coordination, stiff muscles, weak muscles, and tremors. There may be problems with sensation, vision, hearing, and speaking. Often, babies with cerebral palsy do not roll over, sit, crawl or walk as early as other children of their age.
