I.Ae. D.L. 22
The I.Ae. 22 DL was an Argentine advanced training aircraft designed by the Instituto Aerotecnico (AeroTechnical Institute) in 1943, with a wooden structure, which resembled the North American NA-16. Development The I.Ae. 22 DL was a development of the I.Ae. D.L. 21, which itself was itself developed from the North American NA-16, at that time in service with the Argentine military. Argentine experience with the NA-16-4P and deteriorating political relations with the US led to the local development of the I.Ae. D.L. 21, which shared the NA-16 fuselage structure. However it proved too difficult to produce and an entirely new design (the I.Ae. A WikiProject, or Wikiproject, is a Wikimedia movement affinity group for contributors with shared goals. They also exist in different languages, and translation of articles is a form of their collaboration. The National Aeronautics Museum "Brigadier Edmundo Civati Bernasconi" ( es, Museo Nacional de Aeronáutica) is an Argentine museum located in the city of Morón, Buenos Aires. Established in 1960, the museum is dedicated to the history of aviation, in particular the Argentine Air Force. Its collection includes some unique aircraft, like the Pulqui I and Pulqui II jet prototypes, the Urubú flying wing glider, the I.Ae. 22 DL trainer, and a Latécoère XXV flown by Antoine de Saint Exupéry. History The museum was created on January 13, 1960, by decree 264/60 of the President of the Republic, its first director and main supporter being Brigadier Edmundo Civatti Bernasconi. It was initially located at the Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, where the aircraft were displayed in the grounds without protection from the weather. The Soko 522 was a two-seater Yugoslav military training and light attack aircraft produced in the 1950s by SOKO in Yugoslavia. History The ''Soko 522'' was designed by Yugoslav engineers Šostarić, Marjanović and Čurčić at the Ikarus Aircraft Factory in Zemun. The first prototype flew in February 1955. After the initial success of the new aircraft, production was transferred to the Soko aircraft factory in Mostar. Production lasted until 1961 and totalled 110 units. It was used as the primary trainer aircraft for the Yugoslav air force until it was retired in 1978. It gained some fame for its role in war movies filmed in Yugoslavia during the 1960s and 1970s, where it was used to portray the Fw 190 German fighter.
