I-555 (AR 1961)
Interstate 555 (I-555) is an Interstate Highway that connects Turrell, Arkansas, at I-55 to Jonesboro at Highway 91 (AR 91). Formerly known as U.S. Highway 63 (US 63), the highway was upgraded in the early 21st century to Interstate Highway standards. While I-555 is the second Interstate with all three digits the same to exist, it is the first to be signed as an Interstate. (I-444 in Oklahoma, which was the first highway, is unsigned.) Route description The road provides a limited-access highway corridor between Memphis, Tennessee, and Arkansas's fifth-largest city, Jonesboro. KASU
KASU (91.9 FM broadcasting, FM) is a non-commercial public radio station broadcasting a news-talk-music format. Licensed to Jonesboro, Arkansas, United States, it serves northeast Arkansas, southeast Missouri and West Tennessee with its analog signal. The station has been licensed to Arkansas State University since 1957. On March 28, 2020, an EF3 tornado directly struck Jonesboro destroying the transmitter site for the station. Emergency Alert System KASU is the primary source of messages distributed through the Emergency Alert System in northeast Arkansas. Highway 173 (AR 173, Ark. 173, and Hwy. 173) is a former state highway in Craighead County, Arkansas. Between designation as a state highway in 1940 and decommissioning to the city street system in 1979, it was maintained by the Arkansas Highway Department (AHD), now known as the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ArDOT). Route description Highway 173 began at US Highway 63 (US 63, present-day AR 18) east of Jonesboro, the county seat of Craighead County. It ran due north as a section line road past a Civilian Conservation Corps camp through an unincorporated area. Highway 14 (AR 14, Ark. 14, and Hwy. 14) is an east–west state highway in Arkansas. The route of begins at Boat Dock Road near Table Rock Lake and runs east to Mississippi County Route W1020 (CR W1020) at Golden Lake. Segments of the highway are part of two Arkansas Scenic Byways: Sylamore Scenic Byway in the Ozark National Forest and the Crowley's Ridge Parkway atop Crowley's Ridge. The highway's general alignment between the western terminus and Marked Tree closely follows the original routing as established in the initial 1926 Arkansas state highway numbering plan. Eric Alan "Rick" Crawford (born January 22, 1966) is an American politician who has been the U.S. representative for since 2011. He is a member of the Republican Party. Before he was elected to Congress, Crawford was a radio announcer, businessman, and U.S. Army soldier. Early life and education Crawford was born at Homestead Air Force Base in Florida, the son of Ruth Anne and Donnie J. "Don" Crawford. He grew up in a military family; his father served in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Alvirne High School in Hudson, New Hampshire. Marked Tree is a city in Poinsett County, Arkansas, United States, along the St. Francis River, at the mouth of the Little River. The population was 2,566 at the 2010 census.
