Hír TV
Hír TV is a Hungarian television news channel, the first of such made in the country. It began broadcasting on 2 January 2003. History Initial years On 26 November 2002, the TV channel was registered using 20 million Hungarian forints (~64.350 euros) of capital. The first CEO of television was Gábor Borókai, who had recently served as Viktor Orbán's first government spokesman (from 1998 to 2002), and the first editor-in-chief was Imre Dlusztus, who was the sometime editor-in-chief of '' Délmagyarország'' (meaning ''"Southern Hungary"''), the local newspaper of Szeged. The first test broadcast began on 2 December 2002. After one month of test broadcasts, the TV channel started its regular broadcasting on 2 January 2003, according to contract with several cable television companies. Prime time or the peak time is the block of broadcast programming taking place during the middle of the evening for a television show. It is mostly targeted towards adults (and sometimes families). It is used by the major television networks to broadcast their season's nightly programming. ''Népszava'' (meaning "People's Word" in English) is a social-democratic Hungarian language newspaper published in Hungary. History and profile ''Népszava'' is Hungary's eldest continuous print publication and as of October 2019 the last and only remaining liberal, social democratic political daily in the country. ''Népszava'' was established in 1873 in Budapest by Viktor Külföldi. It was the official newspaper of the Hungarian Social Democratic Party until 1948 when Hungary became a communist state. During this period two of Népszava's editors in chief were murdered: Béla Somogyi (along with reporter Béla Bacsó) in 1920 by right wing officers and Illés Mónus in 1944 by members of the Hungarian Nazi Arrow Cross militia. Lajos Simicska
Lajos Simicska (born 28 January 1960) is a former Hungarian business magnate, a former politician of Fidesz, and he was the head of APEH, Hungary's internal revenue service between 1998–1999, during the first government of Viktor Orbán. He was the ninth richest person in Hungary in 2016 (dropped to 49th in 2020). He had extensive media interests, which included ''Magyar Nemzet'', the number one daily conservative newspaper, the radio station Lánchíd Rádió, the weekly magazine Heti Válasz and the television network Hír TV. According to the Influence Barometer, in 2014 he was the 3rd most influential person in Hungary. He has a son Ádám Lajos Simicska who is also a businessman. Lánchíd Rádió (lit. "''Chain Bridge Radio''") was a privately owned radio station in Hungary. It began broadcasting 15 March 2007 and offered news, reports, interviews, cultural programs and popular music. It is Hungary's 10th most listened radio station. On April 11, 2018, the radio was partially ceased because the owners did not want to continue funding it. Currently, only music is being played, because the radio has obligation to broadcast until the frequency license expiration.
