Hyvinkään Tahko
Hyvinkään Tahko is a Finnish sports club from Hyvinkää. It was founded in 1915. Hyvinkää Tahko has participated in many sports in Finland over the years, such as athletics, skiing and orienteering. Since 1980, the club's main successes have been in basketball and pesäpallo. Hyvinkää Tahko has won the men's Finnish Pesäpallo Championship, (Superpesis) four times, between 1979 and 1981, and in 2007. The Women's Championship Tahko has won twice in 1979 and 1983. Tahko's home ground is the Pihkala Pesäpallo stadium. Pihkala
Lauri "Tahko" Pihkala (born Gummerus, 5 January 1888 – 20 May 1981) was the inventor of pesäpallo, the Finnish variant of baseball. In 1969 he became one of the first persons to receive an honorary doctorate in Sport Sciences from the University of Jyväskylä, together with president Urho Kekkonen and Professor Kaarina Kari. Hyvinkää
Hyvinkää (; sv, Hyvinge, ) is a city and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Uusimaa region, approximately north of the capital Helsinki. The city was chartered in 1960. The population of Hyvinkää is (). Its neighboring municipalities are Riihimäki and Hausjärvi in the north, Mäntsälä in the east, Tuusula and Nurmijärvi in the south, and Vihti and Loppi in the west. Highways (such as Tampere Highway ( E12) and Hanko Highway) and rail connections make it one of the suburban commuter centers of Greater Helsinki. Sami Sirviö
Sami Sirviö (born 28 May 1970 in Pyhäjärvi, Finland) is a Sweden Finnish musician and former lead guitarist of the now discontinued Swedish rock band Kent. Biography Sirviö formed Kent in 1990 along with vocalist Joakim Berg, bassist Martin Sköld, drummer Markus Mustonen and keyboardist Thomas Bergqvist. The band originally called themselves ''Jones & Giftet'' before changing their name first to ''Havsänglar'' and later Kent. By that time Bergqvist had been fired from the band and replaced by Martin Roos. After the release of the bands self-titled debut album Roos quit the band to focus on a career at BMG, the band soon recruited Harri Mänty as a replacement. The band continued to release several critically and commercially successful albums with that line-up intact until 2006 when rhythm guitarist Harri Mänty left the band. Superpesis
The Superpesis, known as SM-sarja from 1955 to 1989, is the top professional pesäpallo league in Finland. It was created in 1990 to replace the SM-sarja which was fundamentally an amateur league. The Superpesis is directly overseen by the Finnish Pesäpallo Association. Both the men's and women's top division is called Superpesis. Comprising 13 teams in the men's league and 12 teams in the women's league, one team faces relegation to Ykköspesis at the end of the season. Superpesis was founded in 1990; before that the top division was called ''SM-sarja'' (Finnish Championship). Orienteering
Orienteering is a group of sports that require navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point to point in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain whilst moving at speed.
