The Hyundai Genesis ( ko, 현대 제네시스) is an executive car, executive four-door, five passenger, rear or all-wheel-drive full-size car, full-size luxury vehicle, luxury Sedan (automobile), sedan manufactured and marketed by Hyundai Motor Company, Hyundai. The Hyundai Genesis debuted in 2008 until Genesis spun off as a separate entity in 2017, rebadging the vehicle as the Genesis G80, G80. Introduced in concept car, concept form at the New York International Auto Show#2007, 2007 New York International Auto Show, and internally designated as the BH model, the Genesis was expected to cost $533 million to develop. North American International Auto Show
The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), also known as the Detroit Auto Show as of 2022 and prior to NAIAS, is an annual auto show held in Detroit, Michigan, U.S., at Huntington Place. The show was held in January from 1989 to 2019. It was intended to move to the summer in 2020, but was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic that year and 2021, before returning in September 2022. It is among the largest auto shows in North America. UPI says the show is "regarded as the foremost venue for armanufacturers to unveil new products". The show begins with press preview days, industry preview days and a charity preview event. The charity preview raises money for local children's charities. Hyundai Lambda Engine
The Hyundai Lambda engine family is the company's all-aluminium V6 engine manufactured since 2005. It is currently manufactured at Hyundai's plant in Asan, South Korea. It used to be manufactured at HMMA plant in Montgomery, Alabama, United States. All versions of this engine use a timing chain. John Krsteski
John Krsteski is an American automobile designer, automotive artist, painter and Chief Designer at Genesis, North America. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, he studied transportation design at the College for Creative Studies in Detroit. While at CCS, Krsteski elected also to study painting. On graduation, he joined Johnson controls where he worked on advanced automotive interiors at a time when the expectation for design graduates was to become exterior designers. He described going into interior design as "An unusual step of focusing on his weakness", Krsteski worked at Johnson controls for three years where he became a design manager. He joined Hyundai Motor America in 2007 as a design manager, remained there for 13 years, and joined joining Genesis Design, as a chief designer. Body in white (BIW) is the stage in automobile manufacturing in which a car body's frame has been joined together, that is before painting and before the motor, chassis sub-assemblies, or trim (glass, door locks/handles, seats, upholstery, electronics, etc.) have been integrated into the structure. Assembly involves different techniques such as welding (spot, MIG/MAG), riveting, clinching, bonding and laser brazing. The term derives from manufacturing practices before steel unibody monocoques — when automobile bodies were made by outside firms on a separate chassis with an engine, suspension, and bumpers attached. BMW E60
The fifth generation of the BMW 5 Series executive cars consists of the BMW E60 (sedan version) and BMW E61 (wagon version, marketed as 'Touring'). The E60/E61 generation was produced by BMW from 2003 to 2010 and is often collectively referred to as the E60. BMW 5 Series
The BMW 5 Series is an executive car manufactured and marketed by BMW since 1972, succeeding the New Class Sedans, and currently in its seventh generation.
