Hyria (Boeotia)
Hyria ( grc-x-ionic, Ὑρίη, ; grc-x-koine, Ὑρία, ) is a toponym mentioned in Homer's Catalogue of Ships, where the leading position in the list is given to the contingents from Boeotia, where Hyria and stony Aulis, where the fleet assembled, lead the list. The site was assigned to the territory of Tanagra by Strabo, who is not more precise about its location, which was apparently no longer inhabited in his time. Pausanias does not mention it. Modern identifications of the site near Aulis place it near Megalo Vouno, on a mound of the coastal plain near the beach of Drámesi (), where the surface is strewn with Late Helladic pottery sherds and excavation has revealed Early Mycenaean pottery from a tomb. Nuceria Altaferna
Nocera Inferiore ( nap, Nucèrä Inferiórë or simply , , locally ) is a town and ''comune'' in the province of Salerno, in Campania in southern Italy. It lies west of Nocera Superiore, at the foot of Monte Albino, some 20 km east-southeast of Naples by rail. History The ancient city of ''Nuceria Alfaterna'' was situated nearby in Nocera Superiore. Some of the city's necropoli were located in the area of Nocera Inferiore. Its post-Roman history until 1851 is in common with Nocera Superiore. Post-Roman History At an early date, the city became an episcopal see, and in the 12th century, it sided with Innocent II against Roger of Sicily, suffering severely for its choice. History In classical times, Oria was known as ''Hyria (Uria)'' or ''Hyrium'', a city in ancient Messapia and one of the principal Messapian cities. It was just north of the ancient town Manduria, at some distance southwest of Brundisium, and southeast of Taras/Tarentum; corresponding to the location of the modern town. Silifke ( grc-gre, Σελεύκεια, ''Seleukeia'', la, Seleucia ad Calycadnum) is a town and district in south-central Mersin Province, Turkey, west of the city of Mersin, on the west end of Çukurova. Lysimachia ( el, Λυσιμαχία) is a lake in Aetolia-Acarnania, western Greece. Its area is 13.2 km², its depth is around 9 m. It is fed by the small river Ermitsa, and by a canal that connects the lake with the larger Lake Trichonida to its east. Its outflow is the river Dimikos, which drains into the river Acheloos. The city of Agrinio lies 6 km to the northeast. Hyvinkää (; sv, Hyvinge, ) is a city and municipality of Finland. It is located in the Uusimaa region, approximately north of the capital Helsinki. The city was chartered in 1960. The population of Hyvinkää is (). Its neighboring municipalities are Riihimäki and Hausjärvi in the north, Mäntsälä in the east, Tuusula and Nurmijärvi in the south, and Vihti and Loppi in the west. Highways (such as Tampere Highway ( E12) and Hanko Highway) and rail connections make it one of the suburban commuter centers of Greater Helsinki. The city planning has had an emphasis on recreational facilities.
