Hvalpsund Line
Hvalpsund is a ferry port in Himmerland with a population of 649 (1 January 2022), located 20 km west of Aalestrup, 12 km southwest of Farsø and 25 km southwest of Aars. The town belongs to the municipality of Vesthimmerland Municipality and is located in the Region Nordjylland. History Færgekroen The first royal license to run a ferry on the sound is from 1532. Because of the strong stream the ferry was a kind of barge that was rowed by 4 men. In 1549 the king, Christian III ordered the ferry to be established, and a ferry house was to be built for the travelers. On July 20, 1669, Hvalpsund Færgekro was privileged, and the innkeeper was responsible for both the ferry and the inn, as he had already done for some years. Svenstrup, Aalborg Municipality
Svenstrup is a town in Aalborg Municipality with a population of 7,650 (2022), Region Nordjylland in Denmark. It is located 10 km south of Aalborg's city centre and 3 km south of the southern outskirts of the city. Svenstrup is served by Svenstrup railway station on the Randers–Aalborg railway line. Christian III
Christian III (12 August 1503 – 1 January 1559) reigned as King of Denmark from 1534 and King of Norway from 1537 until his death in 1559. During his reign, Christian formed close ties between the church and the crown. He established Lutheranism as the state religion within his realms as part of the Protestant Reformation. Childhood Christian was the eldest son of the future king, Frederick I of Denmark, and Anna of Brandenburg. Farsø
Farsø is a town with a population of 3,349 (1 January 2022) in Region Nordjylland in Denmark in the Vesthimmerland Municipality. Farsø was the birthplace of Johannes Vilhelm Jensen, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1944. The village of Vognsild is located to the west of Farsø. Farsø is also called one of the head cities of Vesthimmerland Municipality along with Aars, Løgstør and Aalestrup. Himmerland
Himmerland is a peninsula in northeastern Jutland, Denmark. It is delimited to the north and the west by the Limfjord, to the east by the Kattegat, and to the south by the Mariager Fjord.
