Andrew Hussie (born August 25, 1979) is an American author and artist. He is best known as the creator of '' Homestuck'', a multimedia webcomic presented in the style of a text-based graphical adventure game, as well as other works in a similar style that were hosted on his website MS Paint Adventures. Career Early works Andrew Hussie began posting ''Jailbreak'' in 2006. This was posted on a discussion forum and took the appearance of a text-based graphical adventure game. Hussie would post simple drawings with text, and other forum users suggesting commands for the game that Hussie would quickly respond to with a rapidly drawn image. In 2007, Hussie created the website MS Paint Adventures to host his comics; its first three works were ''Jailbreak'', ''Bard Quest'', and ''Problem Sleuth''. Homestuck
''Homestuck'' is an Internet fiction series created by American author and artist Andrew Hussie in the first half of the 2010s. The fourth and best-known of Hussie's four ''MS Paint Adventures'', it originally ran from April 13, 2009 to April 13, 2016. Though normally described as a webcomic, and partly constituted by a series of single panel pages, ''Homestuck'' also relied heavily on Flash animations and instant message logs to convey its story, along with occasional use of browser games. Its plot centers on a group of teens who unwittingly bring about the end of the world by installing the beta version of an upcoming computer game, Sburb. The teens soon come into contact with a group of Internet trolls who are revealed to be horned aliens, and these trolls work with the kids to create a new universe by completing the game. ''MS Paint Adventures'', abbreviated ''MSPAdventures'' or ''MSPA'', was a website and collection of webcomics written and illustrated by Andrew Hussie. According to some estimates, ''MS Paint Adventures'' was the largest collection of comics on the Internet, containing over 10,000 pages among its five series thanks to its frequent updates. The comics were written in serial works or "adventures" in a manner that parodied interactive fiction games. The characters' actions were originally driven by commands suggested by fans in the comics' official forum, but fan suggestions were eventually abandoned due to the size of the fanbase and the author's desire to tell a more coherent story. The 2009 webcomic ''Homestuck'', written and drawn by Andrew Hussie, currently holds a soundtrack consisting of 30 digital distribution, digital albums. ''Hiveswap'' is an episodic adventure game developed by What Pumpkin Games and overseen by Andrew Hussie and Cohen Edenfield. Based in the universe of Hussie's MS Paint Adventures webcomic ''Homestuck'', it focuses on a girl who is accidentally transported to the planet of Alternia—home of the troll species seen in ''Homestuck''. The game was the subject of a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter, raising over in funding. The Topato Corporation (styled as TopatoCo) is a widely recognized online retailer of webcomics and related merchandise. It was established around 2004 by artist Jeffrey Rowland. History The company was started in Oklahoma in "about 2004" by artist Jeffrey Rowland after he lost his job in 2004, to help sell shirts, stickers and other merchandise linked to his webcomics. When the 2004 presidential election was won by George W. Bush, Rowland designed a satirical T-shirt and sold 1000 of them in one month.
