Huntingdon (provincial Electoral District)
Huntingdon is a provincial electoral district in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada that elects members to the National Assembly of Quebec. It notably includes the municipalities of Sainte-Martine, Napierville, Ormstown, Saint-Michel, Saint-Anicet, Lacolle and Sainte-Clotilde. It was originally created for the 1867 election. Its final election was in 1989 and its successor electoral district was Beauharnois-Huntingdon. It was re-created for the 2003 election from parts of Beauharnois-Huntingdon and Saint-Jean electoral districts. In the change from the 2001 to the 2011 electoral map, it lost Saint-Rémi to the newly created Sanguinet electoral district. Dundee, Quebec
Dundee is a township municipality in Le Haut-Saint-Laurent Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie administrative region of Quebec, Canada. At the Canada 2021 Census, the population was 386. It is primarily an agricultural area consisting of dairy and grain farms. Geography Dundee is located in the southwestern corner of the Montérégie region of Quebec. The township is bordered on the south by the Canada–United States border, on the north-west by the Saint Lawrence River, and the Mohawk reserve of Akwesasne to the west. The Salmon River runs through the municipality in a northwesterly direction from the US border to the Saint Lawrence, where many islands also make up Dundee's total area. Montérégie () is an administrative region in the southwest part of Quebec. It includes the cities of Boucherville, Brossard, Châteauguay, Longueuil, Saint-Hyacinthe, Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Salaberry-de-Valleyfield and Vaudreuil-Dorion. Saint-Urbain-Premier, Quebec
Saint-Urbain-Premier is a municipality located southwest of Montreal in Beauharnois-Salaberry, in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the 2021 Canadian census was 1,332. History Settlement of the area started at the beginning of the 19th century. In 1804, the first lots were granted. In 1821, the area was officially surveyed and settlers began arriving in larger numbers. In 1848, the parish of St. Urbain Premier was formed, named after Pope Urban I, who reigned from 222 to 230AD. In 1853, its post office opened, and two years later, the Parish Municipality of Saint-Urbain-Premier was founded. In 1876, the post office was renamed to Saint-Urbain-de-Châteauguay, in order to distinguish it from Saint-Urbain in the Charlevoix region. Sainte-Martine, Quebec
Sainte-Martine is a municipality in Beauharnois-Salaberry Regional County Municipality in the Montérégie region of Quebec, Canada. The population as of the Canada 2016 Census was 5,461. The municipality is made up of a large northern section and a small unattached southern area that was known as the municipality of Saint-Paul-de-Châteauguay until its merger with Sainte-Martine on September 9, 1999. History Sainte-Martine is named in honor of Martina of Rome, martyred in 226. Being already settled and recognize as Sainte-Martine for many years, the status of the municipality was officialized on July 1, 1855, as the parish municipality of Sainte-Martine. The municipality lost a section of its territory in 1885 for the creation of the parish of Très-Saint-Sacrement.
