The Hungary women's national artistic gymnastics team represents Hungary in FIG international competitions. European Union Of Gymnastics
European Gymnastics is one of five continental unions that represents the interests of Europe in the International Gymnastics Federation (french: Fédération Internationale de Gymnastique or ''FIG''). It was formed on 27 March 1982 as the European Union of Gymnastics (french: Union Européenne de Gymnastique or ''UEG'') and adopted its current name on 1 April 2020. 2020 European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 33rd European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships were held from 17 to 20 December 2020 in Mersin, Turkey. The competition was originally scheduled to be held from 30 April to 3 May 2020 in Paris, France, but it was rescheduled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Baku, Azerbaijan was announced as the replacement host for 17 to 20 December, before the event was relocated to Mersin. Originally an Olympic qualifying event, the competition was undesignated as such in light of the ongoing pandemic, so as to avoid pressuring member federations to attend if they were not willing to do so. Only 15 nations opted to send athletes, as the majority of countries withdrew out of concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe. European Gymnastics barred the Polish Gymnastics Federation from sending any athletes due to outstanding financial obligations resulting from their hosting the 2019 edition of the event. Mirtill Makovits
Mirtill Makovits (born 30 March 2004) is a Hungarian artistic gymnast. She won a bronze medal at the 2020 European Championships with the Hungarian team. Career Junior Makovits finished 5th in the all-around and 4th on the uneven bars at the 2018 Olympic Hopes Cup in Liberec, Czech Republic. She competed at the 2019 Elek Matolay Memorial where she won the gold medal in the all-around and on the uneven bars, as well as a silver medal on the balance beam. She won the silver medal on the floor exercise behind Lisa Vaelen at the International GymSport in Porto, Portugal. She competed at the 2019 Junior World Championships in Győr with Nikolett Szilágyi and Hanna Szujó, and they finished 16th as a team, and Makovits finished 17th in the all-around. Zsófia Kovács (gymnast)
Zsófia Kovács (; born 6 April 2000) is a Hungarian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2016 and 2020 Olympic Games. She is the 2017 and 2023 European all-around silver medalist, the 2020 European champion on uneven bars, as well as the 2020 and 2022 European champion on vault. Early life Kovács was born on 6 April 2000 in Dunaújváros. She started gymnastics at the age of six. Senior career 2016 Kovács became age-eligible for senior competition in 2016, and made her senior debut at the Austrian Team Open, where she won the all-around ahead of Giulia Steingruber and Barbora Mokošová. Szombathely (; german: Steinamanger, ; see also other alternative names) is the 10th largest city in Hungary. Boglárka Dévai (born 12 November 1999) is a Hungarian female artistic gymnast. She is the 2018 European champion and 2017 European bronze medalist on vault. She participated at the 2015 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow. Dévai found international success when she won the bronze medal in the vault final at the 2017 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships behind Coline Devillard and Ellie Downie. She won the event at the 2018 European Artistic Gymnastics Championships ahead of Angelina Melnikova of Russia and Denisa Golgota of Romania after upgrading her Yurchenko half-on vault to a Cheng. Dunaújváros
Dunaújváros (; also known by other alternative names) is an industrial city in Fejér County, Central Hungary. It is a city with county rights. Situated 70 kilometres (43 miles) south of Budapest on the Danube, the city is best known for its steelworks, which is the largest in the country. Bettina Lili Czifra (born 20 April 2007) is a Hungarian artistic gymnast. She is a three-time World Challenge Cup medalist. Early life Bettina Lili Czifra was born in Budapest, Hungary on 20 April 2007. Gymnastics career 2022 Czifra competed at the European Youth Olympic Festival where she finished twelfth in the all-around. She next competed at the Junior European Championships where she once again placed twelfth in the all-around. Orosháza
Orosháza is a city situated in the westernmost part of Békés county, Hungary, on the Békés ridge bordered by the rivers Maros and Körös. Orosháza is an important cultural, educational and recreational centre of the region. Dorina Böczögő (born 15 February 1992 in Orosháza) is a Hungarian artistic gymnast who competed at the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. She was a member of the team who won bronze at the 2020 European Championships. Career 2007–2008 At the 2007 World Championships, Böczögő finished 51st in the all-around with a total score of 55.150. Csenge Mária Bácskay (born 4 April 2003) is a Hungarian artistic gymnast and the 2018 Youth Olympic silver medalist on vault. Additionally she was a member of the team who won bronze at the 2020 European Championships.
