Hungary has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 17 times since making its debut in . Hungary attempted to participate in but failed to qualify from ''Kvalifikacija za Millstreet'', a special qualifying competition set up for seven former Eastern Bloc countries. Hungary's first contest in 1994 remains its most successful, with Friderika Bayer finishing in fourth place. The country's only other top five result is András Kállay-Saunders' fifth-place in . Compact Disco is a Hungarian electronic music band and musical producer trio based in Budapest, founded in 2008 by three musicians of varying musical backgrounds. The band represented Hungary in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. History Origins Lotfi, Pál and Walkó first met in 2005, when Behnam Lotfi's techno producer duo, Collins and Behnam planned to produce a cover version of Adamski and Seal's ''Killer'' and was in search of a vocalist. He saw Csaba Walkó in an American Idol type talent show and asked him to sing the vocals for the cover. Walkó that time was singing in a funk- pop band called Brownfield and asked a couple of members of this band to accompany him to the recording session. Sound Of Our Hearts
Hungary participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 in Baku, Azerbaijan. The Hungarian entry was selected through A Dal (which means "The Song"), consisting of two semi-finals and a final, organised by the Hungarian broadcaster M1. Compact Disco represented Hungary with the song "Sound of Our Hearts", which qualified from the first semi-final and went on to place 24th in the final, scoring 19 points. Kati Wolf (born 24 September 1974) is a Hungarian singer. Wolf represented Hungary at the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "What About My Dreams?". Eurovision At the age of seven, Wolf sang the title track for the popular Hungarian cartoon ''Vuk''. Besides singing, she also took piano and jazz dance classes. Hungary returned to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany, after previously entering in 2009 with Zoli Ádok singing "Dance with Me", placing fifteenth in the second semi-final. This was the country's ninth participation in the contest since 1994. Before Eurovision Internal selection On 7 March 2011, MTV announced that they would select their entry for Düsseldorf internally. On 9 March 2011, MTV officially presented Kati Wolf as the Hungarian representative in Germany with the song "What About My Dreams?". At Eurovision Hungary started their Eurovision campaign with Kati Wolf being selected from the national final. Hungary drew starting position 15 for the first semi-final on May 10, 2011.
