Humpers
The Humpers were an American Garage punk (fusion genre), garage punk band, formed in 1989 led by Scott "Deluxe" Drake, formerly of The Suicide Kings. History Despite being based out of Long Beach, California, they recorded their first EP, ''My Machine'', for a Yugoslavia, Yugoslav Zagreb based independent label, Zdenko Franjić's Slušaj Najglasnije (Listen Loudest). The Made in Yugoslavia printed on the record sleeve was first interpreted as a joke, and then as indication that the band is very popular in Yugoslavia, even though the members haven't even been to the country yet. They released two full-lengths for Sympathy for the Record Industry which were highly praised and three for Caroline Records, Caroline/Epitaph Records, Epitaph. The Humpers, along with label mates The Lazy Cowgirls, The Red Aunts, Trash Can School and Clawhammer, were part of a "garage rock renaissance" which hit Los Angeles in the early 1990s. Rabid fans and packed, rock-friendly clubs such as Raji's in H ...

Plastique Valentine
''Plastique Valentine'' is an album by the punk rock band the Humpers, released in 1997. Critical reception ''CMJ New Music Monthly'' thought that the album "displays a band eye-ball deep in punk tradition that's so thoroughly absorbed its influences that comparisons and parallels are moot." ''Miami New Times'' determined that the new songs "swagger with more assurance and confidence than the frantic older stuff." ''The Bradenton Herald'' called the album "hot trailer trash punk flavored with searing '50s roadhouse piano." AllMusic wrote that "though the songwriting is a bit limited—it's hard to find a hook anywhere on the record—its gut-wrenching, visceral rush is harder and more punk than most of the Humpers punk-revivalist contemporaries." Punk-O-Rama Vol
''Punk-O-Rama'' was the title given to a series of ten compilation albums published by Epitaph Records. The first volume was released in 1994, the second in 1996, and the rest annually from 1998 to 2005. The albums included artists from Epitaph's roster as well as from its subsidiary label ANTI- and its partnership labels Hellcat Records and Burning Heart Records. In total the series included 257 songs contributed by 88 different artists. Rancid and Pennywise are the only bands to appear on all 10 volumes. As its title implied, the series featured mostly punk rock and various punk subgenres such as garage punk, hardcore punk, pop punk, post-hardcore, ska punk, skate punk, and street punk. However, as the series went on and the labels' rosters diversified, the music of the ''Punk-O-Rama'' compilations grew to include additional styles of music such as alternative hip hop, alternative rock, digital hardcore, ...

Garage Punk (fusion Genre)
Garage punk is a rock music fusion genre combining the influences of garage rock, punk rock, and often other genres, that took shape in the indie rock underground between the late 1980s and early 1990s. Bands drew heavily from 1960s garage rock, stripped-down 1970s punk rock, and Detroit proto-punk, and often incorporated numerous other styles into their approach, such as power pop, 1960s girl groups, hardcore punk, blues and early R&B, and surf rock. The term "garage punk" often also refers to the original 1960s garage rock movement rather than the 1980s-90s fusion style. The 1980s-90s style itself is sometimes referred to interchangeably as "garage rock" or " garage revival". The term "garage punk" dates back as early as 1972 in reference to the original 1960s garage rock style, although "punk" as it is known today was not solidified as its own distinct genre until 1976. Therefore, despite earlier references to 1960s garage rock as "garage punk", the usage of the term "pun ...

The Red Aunts
The Red Aunts were an American all-female punk band that formed in 1991 in Long Beach, California, United States, when Terri Wahl (a.k.a. Angel, or Louise Lee Outlaw) recruited friends Kerry Davis (a.k.a. Sapphire, or Taffy Davis) and Debi Martini (a.k.a. E.Z. Wider, a.k.a. Connie Champagne, or Debbi Dip). Wahl would become the guitarist, sharing vocal duties with Davis who also played rhythm guitar and Martini as bassist. Wahl's ex-husband, Jon Wahl of the band Claw Hammer, stood in as drummer under the alias Joan Whale until he was replaced full-time by Lesley Ishino (a.k.a. Lesley Noelle, Ishino Destroyer, or Cougar). None of the women had formal musical training or previous experience in bands. They received slight help from both Scott Drake of fellow Long Beach band the Humpers, and Jon Wahl. Dip put out the punk fanzine, ''Real Life in a Big City''. The Red Aunts rapidly developed their own sound, going from raw simple punk to more complicated garage-punk-blues within the ...
