Hukou Railway Station
Hukou () is a railway station on the Taiwan Railways Administration West Coast line located in Hukou Township, Hsinchu County, Taiwan. History The station was opened on 30 October 1893 as Dahukou (大湖口驛). It was renamed to its current name on 1 October 1920. A new, elevated station and platforms was completed on 18 December 2012. Hukou, Hsinchu
Hukou Township () is a rural township of Hsinchu County, Taiwan. With an area of , it is the third largest township in the county. Hukou had an estimated population of 77,908 in December 2019. The Hukou army base houses the 542nd Armor Brigade of the 6th Army Corps of the Republic of China Army. Hsinchu County
Hsinchu County (Wade–Giles: ''Hsin¹-chu²'') is a county in north-western Taiwan. The population of the county is mainly Hakka; with a Taiwanese aboriginal minority in the southeastern part of the county. Zhubei is the county capital, where the government office and county office is located. A portion of the Hsinchu Science Park is located in Hsinchu County. History Early history Before the arrival of the Han Chinese, the Hsinchu area was home to the indigenous Taokas, Saisiyat, and Atayal. Taiwan Railways Administration (TRA) is a railway operator in Taiwan. It is an agency of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, responsible for managing, maintaining, and running conventional passenger and freight railway services on 1097 km of track in Taiwan. West Coast Line (Taiwan)
Western Trunk line () is a railway line of the Taiwan Railways Administration in western Taiwan. It is by far the busiest line, having served over 171 million passengers in 2016. The total length of the line is 404.5 km. The line is an official classification of physical tracks and does not correspond to particular services. It is connected to Taichung line (''mountain line''; ) at Zhunan and Changhua. Many services turn inland to take the Taichung route, then reconnect back to the main line (West Coast line).
