Huilong MRT Station
The Taipei Metro Huilong station is a station on the Xinzhuang Line located in Xinzhuang, New Taipei City, and Guishan District, Taoyuan City, Taiwan. It is the western terminus of the Xinzhuang Line and opened on Jun 29, 2013. It will be a terminus on the Wanda-Zhonghe-Shulin line in 2028. Station overview This two-level, underground station has an island platform. It is located beneath Zhongzheng Rd. near Losheng Sanatorium, adjoining the Xinzhuang Depot. Xinzhuang District
Xinzhuang District () is a district in the western part of New Taipei in northern Taiwan. It has an area of and a population of 413,443 people (2016). History A former name of the area is ''Pulauan'' (). On 15 January 1980, Xinzhuang was upgraded from an urban township to be a county-administered city of Taipei County. Island Platform
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks. An alternative arrangement is to position side platforms on either side of the tracks. The historical use of island platforms depends greatly upon the location. Losheng Sanatorium
Losheng Sanatorium () is a sanatorium for lepers in Xinzhuang District, New Taipei, Taiwan. ''Losheng'' means "happy life". The building was constructed in the 1930s during the Taiwan under Japanese rule, Japanese colonial period. There were heated debates and protests about plans to replace Losheng Sanatorium with a Taipei Rapid Transit System, MRT (Mass Rapid Transport) depot. History Losheng Sanatorium, originally named Rakusei Sanatorium for Lepers of Governor-General of Taiwan , was built in 1929 during the Taiwan under Japanese rule, Japanese colonial period and served as an isolation hospital for leprosy patients. Guishan District
Guishan District () is a district in northeastern Taoyuan City, Taiwan. History Guishan was formerly known as ''Kulunsia'' ( (Ku-lun-siā))). New Taipei City
New Taipei City is a special municipality located in northern Taiwan. Taipei Rapid Transit System
Taipei Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), branded as Metro Taipei, is a rapid transit system serving the areas of Taipei and New Taipei in Taiwan, operated by the government-owned Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation, which also operates the Maokong Gondola.
