Huftarøy is the largest island in the municipality of Austevoll in Vestland county, Norway. Storebø is the administrative centre and largest village in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Oterå or Otterå is a farm in Austevoll municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Location The farm is located on the eastern coast of the island of Huftarøy, the largest island in Austevoll municipality. The farm is located along a strait, across from the island of Reksteren in Tysnes municipality. The farm is located between the neighboring farms ''Såtendal'' and ''Brekke''. Outside the eastern use is a headland known as Oteråneset. County Road 546 runs on the west side of the farm area. Historically it was one large farm, but it has since been divided into two separate farms (eastern and western) with different owners, although they both share the same name. Austevoll Church
Austevoll Church ( no, Austevoll kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in Austevoll Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. It is located in the village of Storebø. It is one of the five churches for the Austevoll parish which is part of the Fana prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Bjørgvin. The white, wooden church was built in a long church design in 1890 using plans drawn up by the architect Hans Heinrich Jess (1847-1916). The church seats about 400 people. History The earliest existing historical records of the church date back to the year 1306, the church was not new that year. The first church in Austevoll was a wooden stave church built on the small island of Sandtorv, probably during the late 1200s. Hordfast
Hordfast or the Hordaland Fixed Link is a planned road project between the mainland city of Bergen and the island of Stord in Hordaland county, Norway. ''Hordfast'' is the colloquial name for the project since it will connect the islands of Hordaland county with the ''fastlandet'' (which is the Norwegian word for "mainland"). This project is one part of the "ferry-free E39" project. It aims to improve the European route E39 highway system so that it will link the west coast cities of Kristiansand - Stavanger - Haugesund - Bergen - Trondheim without the use of any ferries to cross the numerous fjords in the region. The route is still in the planning and regulatory phases, which is expected to be completed in 2023. Currently there is no estimated opening date, but is anticipated to be completed in the early 2030's in close timing with Rogfast.
