Hubert Pollack
Hubert Isaac Pollack (1903 - 1967) was a German Jew whose clandestine activity prior to the Holocaust enabled him and his associates to save a large number of Jews. After his immigration to Israel he served in the Hagana and the Israeli Defense Forces. Biography Pollack was born in Berlin to Wilhelm and Johanna. He studied at the University of Berlin from 1921 to 1927 where he earned a PhD in economics and philosophy. From 1923 to 1929 he worked at the offices of Keren Hayesod - The United Israel Appeal in the state of Rhineland Westphalia-Bonn. During the years 1930 to 1933 he managed the office of statistics of the Jewish Community of Berlin. From 1933 to 1939 he was a consultant with the Palestine office of the community in Berlin. The history of the Jews in Germany goes back at least to the year 321, and continued through the Early Middle Ages (5th to 10th centuries CE) and High Middle Ages (''circa'' 1000–1299 CE) when Jewish immigrants founded the Ashkenazi Jewish community. Yonatan Nir
Yonatan Nir (born April 22, 1977) is an Israeli documentary film director and producer and a former photojournalist. Biography Yonatan Nir grew up in Kibbutz HaZore'a, in Northern Israel. He served in an elite commando unit, and was injured during the 2006 Lebanon War, in which he participated as a reserve soldier. This experience led him to take an interest in post-trauma and rehabilitation; recurring themes in his films. Nir began his professional career as an underwater photographer and photojournalist, working for a number of media outlets including Haaretz, Yedioth Ahronoth and Asian Geographic. Nir is a graduate of the Camera Obscura School of Art in Tel Aviv, where he specialized in film and television. Nir co-produced and co-directed his debut film ''Dolphin Boy'' (2011), together with Dani Menkin. The film’s remake rights were acquired by Disney Pictures in 2012. Harel, Israel
Harel ( he, הַרְאֵל, lit. ''Mountain of God'') is a kibbutz in central Israel. Located near Latrun with an area of 12,000 dunams, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council.
