Yonatan Nir
Yonatan Nir (born April 22, 1977) is an Israeli documentary film director and producer and a former photojournalist. Biography Yonatan Nir grew up in Kibbutz HaZore'a, in Northern Israel. He served in an elite commando unit, and was injured during the 2006 Lebanon War, in which he participated as a reserve soldier. This experience led him to take an interest in post-trauma and rehabilitation; recurring themes in his films. Nir began his professional career as an underwater photographer and photojournalist, working for a number of media outlets including Haaretz, Yedioth Ahronoth and Asian Geographic. Nir is a graduate of the Camera Obscura School of Art in Tel Aviv, where he specialized in film and television. Nir co-produced and co-directed his debut film ''Dolphin Boy'' (2011), together with Dani Menkin. The film’s remake rights were acquired by Disney Pictures in 2012. HaZore'a
HaZore'a ( he, הַזּוֹרֵעַ, ''lit.'' The Sower, named after the neighbouring Tel Zariq, ) is a kibbutz in northern Israel established in 1936 by German Jews. It is the only kibbutz that was established by members of the movement. Located in the western rim of the Jezreel Valley, it falls under the jurisdiction of Megiddo Regional Council. Dani Menkin (Hebrew : דני מנקין, born June 22, 1970) is a Los Angeles-based multi-awardwinning writer, director, and film producer. He is a two-time Israeli Academy Award winner and the founder of film production company Hey Jude Productions. Biography Menkin's professional career began in 1994, when he joined the Israeli Sports Channel ( Sport5) as a reporter. In 1995, he moved to Israeli channel 2, where he covered the Sports Section in the popular program " HaDaka ha-91" with Yoram Arbel.
