Huang Nanyan
Huang Nanyan (, born April 11, 1977, in Guangxi) is a badminton player from the People's Republic of China. Career A women's doubles specialist, Huang won a number of top tier titles in the late 1990s and early 2000s. The first of these came at the 1997 Asian Badminton Championships (now Badminton Asia Championships) with Liu Zhong. The rest came in partnership with Yang Wei and included the World Badminton Grand Prix (2000), and the Dutch (1998), Brunei (1998), South Korea (1999, 2001), Singapore (1999, 2002), and Malaysia (2000, 2001, 2002) Opens. Huang and Yang were silver medalists at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, losing the final to their formidable fellow countrywomen Ge Fei and Gu Jun. China National Badminton Team
The China national badminton team, is a badminton team that represents the People's Republic of China in international badminton team competitions. In addition to the first national team, there is also the second national badminton team of China. Immediately afterward, there is the China National Badminton National Youth Team. 2002 Uber Cup
The 2002 Thomas & Uber Cup was held in Guangzhou, China from May 9 to May 19, 2002. It was the 22nd tournament of World Men's Team Badminton Championships of Thomas Cup and 19th tournament of World Women's Team Badminton Championships of Uber Cup. It is the only Thomas & Uber Cup that was played in a 7 points / 5 sets scoring system. Indonesia won the Thomas Cup for the fifth time in a row and China won the Uber Cup for the third time in a row. Gu Jun
Gu Jun (; born 3 January 1975) is a Chinese former badminton player. Career Gu and her regular partner Ge Fei were the world's dominant women's doubles team from the mid-1990s to their retirement after the 2000 Olympics. They won over thirty top tier international tournaments together, including two Olympic competitions and two IBF World Championships (which were then held biennially). They helped China to regain the Uber Cup (women's world team trophy) from Indonesia in 1998, and to retain the Cup in 2000. Gu Jun was elected to the World Badminton Hall of Fame in 2008. Summer Olympics Gu competed in the Atlanta 1996 Olympics in the women's doubles with Ge Fei. Ge Fei (; born 9 October 1975) is a Chinese former badminton player who is one of the most successful doubles specialists in the sport's history. Among many international titles, Ge won two Olympic gold medals and two IBF World Championship gold medals in the women's doubles with her regular partner Gu Jun and a World Championship gold medal in the mixed doubles with Liu Yong. Ge was also a member of Chinese teams that captured the Uber Cup (women's world team trophy) in 1998 and 2000. Ge and Gu Jun were the world's dominant women's doubles team from the mid-1990s to their retirement after the 2000 Olympics, winning over thirty top tier international titles together. Singapore Open (badminton)
The Singapore Open is a badminton event that has been held in Singapore annually since 1929. Badminton World Federation categorized Singapore Open as one of the seven BWF World Tour Super 500 events in the BWF events structure since 2018. In 2023, the tournament will be upgraded to a Super 750 event. In 1929, the Singapore Badminton Association (SBA) was established to promote the sport and organise competitions.
