Hryhory Alchevsky
Gregory Alchevsky (russian: Григо́рий Алексе́евич Алче́вский; 1866 in Kharkov, Russian Empire – 1920 in Moscow) was a Ukrainian and Russian composer. Gregory was the son of a mining engineer, industrialist and banker Aleksey Alchevsky, and teacher Khrystyna Zhuravlyova. Gregory also had two sіblings named Ivan and Khrystina. Ivan Alchevsky became a renowned opera singer and Khrystina Alchevskaya was a respected poet. Gregory Alchevsky himself, worked as a teacher of voice and piano, composer and singer. He was a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory of Music. Hryhoriy Loboda
Hryhory Loboda ( ro, Grigore Lobodă; uk, Григорій Лобода, ; pl, Grzegorz Łoboda; born in the Kyiv (Kiev) region — May 1596), was a Kosh Otaman of the Zaporizhian Host (1593–6, with interruptions) of Moldavian descent. In 1594 and 1595 he and Severyn Nalyvaiko took part in the anti-Turkish campaign in Moldavia as allies of Rudolf II. During the Cossack rebellion of 1596, Loboda and Nalyvaiko raided the Kijów Voivodeship (Kyiv, also Kiev) neighboring territory which is now Belarus. Grigory Ivanovich Petrovsky (russian: Григо́рий Ива́нович Петро́вский, uk, Григо́рій Іва́нович Петро́вський, translit=Hryhorii Ivanovych Petrovskyi) (3 February 1878 - 9 January 1958) was a Ukrainian Soviet politician and Old Bolshevik. Hryhoriy Nemyria ( uk, Григорій Немиря) is the First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Parliament of Ukraine and Deputy Chairman of the All-Ukrainian Union "Fatherland", Batkivshchyna. Hryhory Nazarenko
Hryhory Pavlovych Nazarenko (13/X/1902 Poltava, in the Poltava Governorate of the Russian Empire, in present-day Ukraine - 1997 Detroit, United States) was a bandura player. Hryhory Nazarenko was one of the founding members of the Poltava Bandurist Capella which was established in Poltava in 1925. He had a brilliant first tenor voice and soon became one of the prominent soloist of the ensemble. In 1935 he was enlisted into the newly formed combined Kiev Bandurist Capella where in time he became concertmaster. A number of his arrangements were recorded on record in the 1930s and he also was featured on a number of recordings as tenor soloist. In 1937 Nazarenko was slated to become artistic director of the chorus, but was sidestepped when the choice fell to Danylo Pika because of his membership in the Communist party. Hryhoriy Trokhymovych Kytasty ( uk, Григорій Трохимович Китастий) (January 17, 1907 – April 6, 1984) was a Ukrainian émigré composer and conductor. In 2008, he was honored with the Hero of Ukraine state decoration. Biography Early years Hryhory Kytasty was born in the town of Kobeliaky, Poltava Governorate. After completing initial music studies at the Poltava Musical College, Kytasty studied under Mykola Hrinchenko, Levko Revutsky and Viktor Kosenko at the Institute of Music and Drama named after Mykola Lysenko from 1930–35 in Kyiv.
