Howie Tee
Hitman Howie Tee (born Howard Thompson) is an English-born hip-hop DJ and producer of West Indian origin, but raised in Brooklyn NY. Howie Tee is best known for his work with U.T.F.O, Chubb Rock, Special Ed and The Real Roxanne. Howie got his start in the early ’80s as a member of the electro hip-hop group CDIII, who released two singles on Prelude Records. Howie, along with Kangol Kid of U.T.F.O, produced the group Whistle, best known for the 1985 song " (Nothing Serious) Just Buggin'". He then became the in-house producer for New Jersey-based independent label Select Records." I Got It Made" by Special Ed and "Treat em' Right" by Chubb Rock were produced by Hitman Howie Tee. Maxi Priest
Max Alfred "Maxi" Elliott (born 10 June 1961), known by his stage name Maxi Priest, is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent. He is best known for singing reggae music with an R&B influence, otherwise known as reggae fusion. He was one of the first international artists to have success in this genre, and one of the most successful reggae fusion acts of all time. Vicious (rapper)
Quame Byron Riley, better known as Vicious or Li'l Vicious, is an American rapper and reggae artist. Career Discovered by Donovan Thomas and Doug E. Fresh at a talent show at the age of 14, "Freaks", a Dancehall tune beat-boxed entirely by Doug E. and vocalized mainly by his protégé, a Brooklyn-born Jamaican teenage newcomer named Vicious. The song received major radio and club play, followed by video play when the video was finally produced a few months into 1994. The latter would soon ink a deal with Sony Music's Epic Records for three years. His debut album, '' Destination Brooklyn'', was released on November 1, 1994. The album charted on three ''Billboard'' charts, peaking at number one on the Reggae charts. Yolanda Whitaker, also known as Yo-Yo (born August 4, 1971) is an American rapper and actress. Much of Yo-Yo's music advocates female empowerment. She is the protégé of gangsta rapper Ice Cube. Yo-Yo has dubbed her crew the IBWC, Intelligent Black Woman's Coalition. Career Music Yo-Yo first appeared as a guest on Ice Cube's 1990 debut studio album ''AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted'' on the track "It's a Man's World". MC Miker G & DJ Sven were a hip hop duo from the Netherlands. The duo consisted of Lucien Witteveen and Sven van Veen (DJ Sven). The 1980s saw the two launch "Holiday Rap" to international success. The song is a remixed version of Madonna's hit "Holiday" with additional rapping and an interpolation of the chorus of Cliff Richard's " Summer Holiday", produced and mixed by Ben Liebrand. Biography Early years Witteveen and van Veen became acquainted in 1986 in a disco in Hilversum. The disco, Club Baccara, and the resident DJ Martin van der Schagt had a home studio where he recorded the demo version of the Holiday Rap using the original tape loops of Madonna's Holiday. This version was not usable for commercial release. Witteveen was discovered by Hotsound Records' Erik van Vliet, but Frits van Swoll, A & R manager of Dureco, took the song away from Erik, as Frits heard the demo on a local radio station, and approached Ben Liebrand to produce it from scratch. Crash Crew is an American early hip-hop group who recorded for Mike and Dave Records in 1980 and then signed to Sugar Hill Records. The group, based in Harlem, Lincoln Projects New York City, consisted of members DJ Daryll C. (who died in 1999 due to diabetes), G. Man, La Shubee, Barry B-Stro, Michael EK Shahid (Ek Mike C), and Reggie Reg. The Crash Crew were some of the first Emcees to sing on records and during live performances. The group has performed with some of the biggest names in Hip Hop. According to JayQuan.com, the six grew up in the surroundings of Lincoln projects (in Harlem, New York), and in 1977 the group was created.
