Garry Howatt
Garry Robert Charles Howatt (born September 26, 1952) is a Canadian former ice hockey forward. He played in the National Hockey League with the New York Islanders, Hartford Whalers, and New Jersey Devils between 1972 and 1984. With the Islanders Howatt won the Stanley Cup in 1980 and 1981. Howatt was known for his toughness and, due to his small size, had the nickname "Toy Tiger." Career Junior and AHL Born in Grand Centre (now part of Cold Lake), Alberta, Howatt played one season in the WCHL with the Flin Flon Bombers in 1971-72. He amassed 79 points in 60 games. That year he was drafted into the NHL by the New York Islanders at the 1972 NHL Amateur Draft. The following year he played with the New Haven Nighthawks of the American Hockey League, scoring 49 points in 65 games. Lester Alexande Howatt (August 18, 1909 – October 5, 1994) was an American businessman and politician. Howatt was born in Wabasha County, Minnesota. He went to University of Minnesota School of Agriculture. Howatt lived in Lake City, Minnesota with his wife and family. He was involved in the banking and real estate businesses and was a farmer. Howatt served on the Lake City School Board and was the school board clerk. William Hubert Howatt (September 7, 1867 – January 9, 1919) was a farmer and political figure on Prince Edward Island. He represented 5th Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1915 to 1919 as a Liberal. John Howatt Bell
John Howatt Bell (December 13, 1846 – January 29, 1929) was a lawyer and politician who served as the 14th premier of Prince Edward Island. Bell was born in Cape Traverse, the son of Walter Bell and Elizabeth Howatt. He was educated at Prince of Wales College and at Albert College in Belleville. After studying law, he was called to the Ontario bar in 1874 and set up practice in Ottawa, Ontario. He moved to Manitoba, was called to the bar there and set up practice in Emerson. In 1882, he married his first cousin, Helen, the daughter of Cornelius Howatt. He returned to Prince Edward Island, was called to the bar, and set up practice in Summerside. Bell entered politics in 1886 when he was elected to the province's legislative assembly as a Liberal. In 1898 he won a seat in the House of Commons of Canada as a supporter of the federal Liberals under Sir Wilfrid Laurier. Cornelius Howatt
Cornelius Howatt (February 4, 1810 – May 7, 1895) was a farmer and political figure in Prince Edward Island. He represented 4th Prince in the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island from 1859 to 1876 as a Conservative member. He was born in Tryon, Prince Edward Island, the son of James Howatt. He married Jane Bell around 1840. Howatt was speaker for the provincial assembly from 1874 to 1876. With Augustus Holland, he supported a motion opposing union with Canada in 1873 even though, by that time, union was considered by most as inevitable. He died at North St. Eleanors in 1895. Hiwatt
Hiwatt is a British company that manufactures amplifiers for electric guitars and electric basses. Starting in the late 1960s, together with Marshall and Vox, Hiwatt contributed to the sonic image popularly termed "British sound". History Origins Hylight Electronics was the brainchild of British audio engineer David Reeves. He attended technical school in the late 1950s and did apprenticeships at Marconi Company and Mullard. While working his day job, young Reeves started working evenings in a small room over Plato Music on Crown Passage in Morden from 1964–1968. He fixed things at first, repairing hifi sets and televisions. It was during this time that he first conceived the idea to start his own company and invented the Hiwatt name. In 1963, a local band's amplifier blew up, Dave Reeves said "I could build a better one than that" so he did.
