Bombay Bicycle Club
Bombay Bicycle Club are an English indie rock band from Crouch End, London, consisting of Jack Steadman, Jamie MacColl, Suren de Saram, and Ed Nash. They are guitar-fronted and have experimented with different genres, including folk, electronica, world music and indie rock. The band were given the opening slot on 2006's V Festival after winning a competition. They subsequently released two EPs and their debut single " Evening/Morning". Since then, the band has released five albums including '' So Long, See You Tomorrow'' which topped the album charts in February 2014. The band has toured worldwide as a headlining act, playing North America, Australia, Europe and Asia. In January 2016, the four members announced that they would pursue solo projects. Indie Rock
Indie rock is a Music subgenre, subgenre of rock music that originated in the United States, United Kingdom and New Zealand from the 1970s to the 1980s. Originally used to describe independent record labels, the term became associated with the music they produced and was initially used interchangeably with alternative rock or "Pop rock, guitar pop rock". Indie pop (also typeset as indie-pop or indiepop) is a music genre and subculture that combines guitar pop with DIY ethic in opposition to the style and tone of mainstream pop music. Amie Street was an indie online music store and social network service created in 2006 by Brown University seniors Elliott Breece, Elias Roman, and Joshua Boltuch, in Providence, Rhode Island. The site was notable for its demand-based pricing. The company was later moved to Long Island City in Queens, New York. In late 2010, the site was sold to Amazon who redirected customers to their own website. Jim Abbiss is a British music producer, best known for his work on records including the debut album of Editors ('' The Back Room''), Arctic Monkeys' Mercury Music Prize winning debut album, ''Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not'', Kasabian's ''Kasabian'' and ''Empire'', Ladytron's ''Witching Hour'' and ''Ladytron'', Sneaker Pimps' debut ''Becoming X'', and Adele's '' 19'', and '' 21''. ''The Boy I Used to Be'' is the first extended play (EP) by Bombay Bicycle Club, released in 2007. It was released on CD and 1,000 limited edition numbered 10-inch vinyl. 500 vinyl copies were also pressed by the independent record label Nettwerk. It was the band's first release since winning Channel 4's "Road to V" competition, where they won the opportunity to be the opening act at the 2006 V Festival. Recording The EP was recorded in late-2006 at Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire with the music producer Jim Abbiss, who had previously worked with Arctic Monkeys and Kasabian. The terms special edition, limited edition, and variants such as deluxe edition, or collector's edition, are used as a marketing incentive for various kinds of products, originally published products related to the arts, such as books, prints, recorded music and films, and videogames, but now including clothing, cars, fine wine, and whisky, among other products.
