"How Long" is the first single released by Dundee band The View from their fourth album ''Cheeky for a Reason''. The song was first announced by ''NME'' on 27 May 2012 as the first single to be released on The Views anticipated new album ''Cheeky for a Reason''. The song was officially made available for download from iTunes on 6 June 2012, a whole month before the anticipated release date. The music video for the song was released on 13 June 2012. The video, written and directed by Red and starring Martin Compston caused controversy in the media on its release, due to its assumed subject matter and further claims from one of the cast that the content for the video was never disclosed to her. However, the bands management, record label and producers of the video later proved that all cast were given a detailed treatment, that disclosed the concept of the video prior to filming. The View (band)
The View are a Scottish indie rock band. They incorporate various styles such as punk, pop, alternative rock, and folk in their music. They are best known for their 2007 single "Same Jeans" which reached number 3 on the UK Singles Chart. The band have released five studio albums since their platinum selling debut ''Hats Off to the Buskers'', which topped the UK Albums Chart in January 2007 and was nominated for the 2007 Mercury Music Prize. Kyle Falconer
Kyle Francis Falconer (born 6 June 1987) is a Scottish musician, singer and songwriter. He is best known as the lead vocalist of The View. Along with the other band members, Falconer hails from the Dryburgh district of Dundee. He shares songwriting responsibilities with bass guitarist Kieren Webster. In July 2018, Falconer released his debut solo album titled 'No Thank You' independently. The record reached number 1 in the Record Store Chart in the week of the release and achieved a top 40 position in the UK Album Chart. Kieren Clark Webster (born 10 May 1986) is the bass guitarist and occasional lead vocalist for Scottish band The View; he is also the lead vocalist for band WEB. On 27 March 2020 WEB released their first single 'Haze'. Along with frontman Kyle Falconer, he writes the majority of The View's material. In 2006, he was placed 6th in NME's Cool List. He and Falconer alternate roles on some songs such as "Skag Trendy", "Gran's for Tea", "One Off Pretender", "Realisation", "Fireworks and Flowers", "Hole in the Bed" and "Cracks", with Webster taking on guitar and lead vocals and Falconer replacing him as bass guitarist and backing vocalist.
