Hounslow F.C.
Hounslow F.C. was an English football club based in Hounslow, Greater London. History A Hounslow F.C. existed in the early part of the twentieth century, and spent the 1899–1900 in the London League. The modern club were originally named Hounslow Town and joined the Corinthian League in 1946. They were league champions in 1949–50 and 1951–52. They were champions again in 1954–55 and also reached the first round of the FA Cup, where they lost 4–2 at home to Hastings United. At the end of the season they joined the Athenian League. The club finished as runners-up in their first season in the Athenian League and were champions in 1959–60. In 1961–62 the club reached the final of the FA Amateur Cup. After a 1–1 draw with Crook Town at Wembley, they lost the replay at Ayresome Park 4–0. Hounslow () is a large suburban district of West London, west-southwest of Charing Cross. It is the administrative centre of the London Borough of Hounslow, and is identified in the London Plan as one of the 12 metropolitan centres in Greater London. It is bounded by Isleworth to the east, Twickenham to its south, Feltham to its west and Southall to its north. Hounslow includes the districts of Hounslow West, Heston, Cranford and Heathrow. Although most of the district lay within the London Borough of Hounslow, some parts fall within the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames and the London Borough of Hillingdon including Heathrow Airport. Most of Hounslow, including its Town Centre, the area south of the railway station and the localities of Lampton and Spring Grove, falls under the TW3 postcode. 1983–84 Southern Football League
The 1983–84 Southern Football League season was the 81st in the history of the league, an English football competition. Dartford won the Premier Division, winning their fourth Southern League title and were promoted to the Alliance Premier League, while Shepshed Charterhouse, Willenhall Town and Road-Sea Southampton were promoted to the Premier Division for the first time in their history along with Crawley Town, who returned after 15 seasons. Robert Burns (25 January 175921 July 1796), also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, was a Scottish poet and lyricist. Fred Bullock (footballer)
Frederick Edwin Bullock (1 July 1886 – 14 November 1922) was an English professional footballer, best remembered for his 11-year spell with Huddersfield Town, before, during and after the First World War. He played left back and captained the club. International career Bullock won one cap for England, which came in a 2–0 win over Ireland in 1920. He won an amateur cap in 1910. Personal life Bullock was married to Maude and had one son. He served as a lance corporal in the Football Battalion during the First World War and was wounded in the right shoulder during the Battle of the Somme in 1916, in the region of Delville Wood and Guillemont. He was injured in the left knee after an accident in 1918 and was demobilised in March 1920. After his retirement from football in 1922, Bullock became landlord of the Slubber's Arms pub in Huddersfield. Middlesex Senior Charity Cup
The Middlesex Senior Charity Cup is a knock-out system football competition that has been running since 1901. It was presented in 1901 by C.S. Goldmann, Esq. and was first played for in the 1901–02 season, the first winners being Clapton Orient. The competition is run mainly for non-league clubs in the region, although league sides have been known to enter the competition, such as Barnet, Brentford Chelsea Tottenham Hotspur and Q.P.R. Hayes have won the competition the most times, with 15 wins (their first victory came in 1932 and their most recent in 1991). In 1988, the final, sponsored by Russell Grant in which Hendon beat Wembley 2–0, was played at Wembley Stadium. On 25 April 2007, Harrow Borough retained the Cup for a second year by beating Brook House at Staines Town's Wheatsheaf Park 5–4 on penalties after the match had finished 0–0 after extra time.
