Horst-Dieter Kolletschke
Horst-Dieter Kolletschke (born 29 February 1952) is a retired '' Konteradmiral'' (rear admiral) of the German Navy. Biography Born in Eckernförde, from 1972 to 1975 Kolletschke studied electrical engineering at the University of Applied Sciences Kiel, before joining the navy. After finishing his officer training, Kolletschke continued his studies in electrical engineering at the Bundeswehr University Munich from 1976 to 1979, earning a ''Diplom''. Kolletschke then worked as a logistics officer and squadron commander in Naval Air Wing 5 based in Holtenau. He in 1983 returned to the Bundeswehr University Munich to work in military research and development at the ''Institut für Elektrische Maschinen und Antriebstechnik''. Eckernförde
Eckernförde ( da, Egernførde, sometimes also , nds, Eckernför, sometimes also ) () is a German town in Schleswig-Holstein, Rendsburg-Eckernförde, on the coast of the Baltic Sea approximately 30 km north-west of Kiel. The population is about 23,000. Eckernförde is a popular tourist destination in northern Germany. Name The name of Eckernförde is of mixed origin, but derived from the name of a Danish castle formerly located near the current town, which is also reflected in the name of the town district of ''Borby.'' Chief Of The Navy Office
The Navy Office () was a higher command within the German Navy, founded in 1965 and disestablished in 2012. Its original responsibility was training, education and armaments planning for the German Navy. It was situated at Wilhelmshaven until it was relocated to Rostock after German reunification in 1990. In 2001 it was merged with the former Navy Support Command, expanding its responsibilities to include naval logistics. The Marineamt was commanded by a Rear Admiral directly subordinate to the Chief of the Naval Staff in the Ministry of Defence. It was the superior command for all naval schools and bases as well as of some research and development institutions. In 2012, the Marineamt was combined with the Naval Staff in the Ministry of Defence in Bonn and Fleet Command in Glücksburg to form Navy Command (''Marinekommando''), located in Rostock. The Navy Command (german: Marinekommando, MarKdo) is the high command of the German Navy of the Bundeswehr as well as the staff of the Inspector of the Navy, the Navy's highest commander.
