''Horrid Henry'' is a children's book series by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross. It has been adapted for television, film and theatre. Horrid Henry is set in the United Kingdom in 1994. Horrid Henry (TV Series)
''Horrid Henry'' is an animated children's television series based on the British children's book series of the same name by Francesca Simon. Produced by Novel Entertainment (in association with Nelvana Limited for series 1 only), it was broadcast from 31 October 2006 until 17 May 2019 on CITV. The show is currently airing on Nicktoons and available to stream on Netflix in the UK since 28 May 2018. 250 episodes were produced. Horrid Henry is the first book of the ''Horrid Henry'' series. It was published in 1994 and written by Francesca Simon and illustrated by Tony Ross. The book is a collection of short stories about the same characters, along the lines of the Just William books. Plot Horrid Henry's Perfect Day Horrid Henry is a young boy who loves doing unimaginable horrible things. He throws food, he snatches things, he pushes, shoves and pinches. He has a younger brother called Perfect Peter, an extremely perfect boy who does uncountable good deeds. Francesca Simon
Francesca Isabella Simon (born 23 February, 1955) is an American-born British author who resides in North London. She is most famous for writing the '' Horrid Henry'' series of children's books. She is the daughter of screenwriter and playwright Mayo Simon (not to be confused with Simon Mayo, a British radio DJ). Biography Simon was born in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. She grew up in California and studied at Yale and Jesus College, Oxford, where she majored in medieval studies and Old English. Simon worked as a journalist, writing for the ''Sunday Times'', ''Guardian'', ''Mail on Sunday'', ''The Daily Telegraph'' and ''Vogue'' (US). Simon was inspired to write by Anthony Trollope. After she gave birth to her son, Joshua, in 1989, she began to write children's books full-time.
