Hornum, Denmark
Hornum is a town in western Himmerland with a population of 943 (1. January 2022), located 21 km southeast of Løgstør and 9 km northwest of Aars. The city belongs to the municipality of Vesthimmerland Municipality and is located in the North Denmark Region. Hornum is located in Ulstrup parish. Ulstrup Church, also known as Hornum-Ulstrup Church, is located a little south of the city by the old village of Ulstrup. In the northern part of the city lies Søttrup Frimenighedskirke. History Ulstrup got a station on the Himmerlands runways, opened in 1893. But when there was an Ulstrup station on Langå- Struer, the station was named Hornum. The station had two crossings and a loading track with a blind track at each end. Handball (also known as team handball, European handball or Olympic handball) is a team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outcourt players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. Viborg (), a city in central Jutland, Denmark, is the capital of both Viborg municipality and Region Midtjylland. Viborg is also the seat of the Western High Court, the Courts of Denmark, High Court for the Jutland peninsula. Viborg Municipality is the second-largest Denmark, Danish municipality, covering 3.3% of the country's total land area. Hobro
Hobro () is an old market and railway town in Region Nordjylland on the Jutland peninsula in northern Denmark. It has a population of 12,071 (1 January 2022). The town is situated in a hilly terrain at the head of Mariager Fjord, close to the former Viking fortress of Fyrkat. It is the seat of Mariagerfjord municipality. Politics Hobro was until 1 January 2007 also a municipality (Danish, '' kommune'') in North Jutland County covering an area of 166 km² and with a total population of 15,318 (2005). Its last mayor was Jørgen Pontoppidan, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party. Hobro municipality ceased to exist due to ''Kommunalreformen'' ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). Langå, is a railway town in central Denmark with a population of 2.811 (2022), located in Randers municipality in Region Midtjylland in Jutland. It was the site of the municipal council of the now former Langå municipality, until 1 January 2007. Langå is located by the railroad stretch between Randers and Århus and is the beginning of the railroad stretch towards Viborg and Struer. Regions Of Denmark
The five Regions of Denmark ( da, regioner) were created as administrative entities at a level above the municipalities and below the central government in the public sector as part of the 2007 Danish Municipal Reform, when the 13 counties ('' amter'') were abolished. At the same time, the number of municipalities ('' kommuner'') was cut from 270 to 98. The reform was approved and made into a law by the lawmakers in the Folketing 26 June 2005 with elections to the 98 municipalities and 5 regions being held Tuesday 15 November 2005. Each region is governed by a popularly elected regional council with 41 members, from whom the regional chairperson is chosen. The main responsibility of the regions is healthcare. Lesser powers of the regions include public transport, environmental planning, soil pollution management and some coordination of secondary education.
