Hooton, Cheshire
Hooton is a suburban village on the Wirral Peninsula, within the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. It was once a separate village but was incorporated into Ellesmere Port as the town expanded outwards during the twentieth century. The 2011 census recorded the population of the Hooton built-up area as 385. History The name Hooton means "hill-spur farm/settlement" and likely derives from the Old English words ''hōh'' (s sharply projecting tract of land) and ''tūn'' (a farmstead or settlement). In 1070 William the Conqueror granted the lands of Hooton to Adam de Aldithly. Jason Trey Hooten (born April 20, 1969) is the head coach of the New Mexico State University men's basketball program as of March 24, 2023. Hooten was previously head coach at Sam Houston State University for 13 seasons. And was an assistant coach for there for the previous six years, before being named as the Bearkats' head men's basketball coach on April 2, 2010. In his time with the Bearkats, Hooten had a 261-169 record and six 20-plus victory seasons. Early life Hooten is a 1987 graduate of Killeen Ellison High School and lettered in basketball and baseball. The Hooten Hallers are an American blues/ rock'n'roll band that formed in Columbia, Missouri in 2007. History The band was founded by guitarist/lead vocalist John Randall and drummer/ falsetto vocalist Andy Rehm, who performed as a duo and were known for their raucous and often improvised live performances. Paul Weber briefly joined the band in 2013–14 on harmonica and tuba, and wrote several of the group's songs, such as "She Used to Love My Music" and "Trouble Is". Baritone and bass saxophonist Kellie Everett joined in 2014 and solidified the group's line-up as a trio. The Hooten Hallers are a "high-energy blues, soul and rock and roll band known for their gritty Americana roots music".
