Hong Kong Men's National Ice Hockey Team
The Hong Kong national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Hong Kong and a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Hong Kong is currently ranked 47th in the IIHF World Rankings and competes in Division III of the IIHF World Championships. History The Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association (HKIHA) was founded on 8 August 1980. Hong Kong joined the IIHF on 31 March 1983, and made its debut in the world championship at Pool D in Perth, Australia in 1987. Hong Kong tied Chinese Taipei, 2–2 in its first international game on 13 March 1987 and went on to win the Fair Play Cup at the world tournament. After their one appearance in the World Championship, Hong Kong took a hiatus from participation in international tournaments. Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association
The Hong Kong Ice Hockey Association (HKIHA) is the governing body of ice hockey in Hong Kong. History HKIHA was admitted to the International Ice Hockey Federation on April 30, 1983. It is one of the IIHF's full members. The current chairman is Yeung Kit Kan. HKIHA is mainly responsible for organizing the games of the Hong Kong national ice hockey team, as well as the national women's and junior teams. The association also organizes the game operations for the Hong Kong Ice Hockey League. In September 2021, ''SCMP'' published an article which detailed multiple complaints against the association, from former coaches and players. IIHF World Championship Division III
The IIHF World Championship Division III are an annual sports event organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). It was the lowest level of the IIHF World Championships until the formation of Division IV for 2020. The 2016 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 80th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated at several levels of competition. 2015 IIHF World Championship Division III
The 2015 IIHF World Championship Division III was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. It was contested in İzmir, Turkey, from 3 to 12 April 2015. Seven nations participated, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, who joined the world championships for the first time since 2008. After three consecutive years of finishing in the second place, North Korea won the tournament and was promoted to Division II Group B for 2016.
