Hong Kong Classic Cup
The Hong Kong Classic Cup is a Thoroughbred set weights horse race in Hong Kong for four year olds, run over a distance of 1800 metres. The first three finishers in this race have priority to run in the Hong Kong Derby, which is the most prestigious race on the domestic racing calendar. The race was known as the ''Hong Kong Derby Trial'' until 2010. Winners since 2006 The 2010 winner ''King Dancer'' was later exported to Europe and renamed ''Uramazin''. Thoroughbred
The Thoroughbred is a horse breed best known for its use in horse racing. Although the word ''thoroughbred'' is sometimes used to refer to any breed of purebred horse, it technically refers only to the Thoroughbred breed. Thoroughbreds are considered " hot-blooded" horses that are known for their agility, speed, and spirit. The Thoroughbred, as it is known today, was developed in 17th- and 18th-century England, when native mares were crossbred with imported Oriental stallions of Arabian, Barb, and Turkoman breeding. Ryan Moore (jockey)
Ryan Lee Moore (born 18 September 1983) is an English flat racing jockey, who was Champion Jockey in 2006, 2008 and 2009. He is currently the first choice jockey for Aidan O'Brien's Ballydoyle operation, a role in which he mainly rides horses owned by Coolmore Stud. He also sometimes rides horses for Juddmonte and The Queen. Family Moore is the son of successful trainer and former jump jockey Gary L. Zac Purton
Zac Purton (born 3 January 1983) is a horse racing jockey. He won the Brisbane jockeys' premiership as an apprentice in 2003, moved to Sydney and was quickly amongst the top jockeys there before he began his Hong Kong career in 2007/08. In the 2013/14 season, Purton ended the 13-year championship reign of Douglas Whyte, becoming the first Australian jockey to win the Hong Kong title since Noel Barker in 1991. . (112 wins). Golden Sixty ( zh, 金鎗六十, foaled 14 October 2015) is a champion Australian-bred Hong Kong-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Four-Year-Old Classic Series in year 2020 and was named the 2020/2021 and 2021/2022 Hong Kong Horse of the Year. After being sold to New Zealand-based interests as a yearling he was exported to Hong Kong as a two-year-old. In his first season the gelding won his first three races but ran unplaced in his final start. Rapper Dragon
Rapper Dragon, (, 27 August 2012 – 7 May 2017) was an Australian-bred Thoroughbred racehorse. When racing as a two-year-old in Australia he showed considerable promise as he won one race and finished second in both The Schweppervescence and Champagne Stakes. After being gelded and sent to race in Hong Kong he ran well as a three-year-old, making steady improvement and ending his second season with a win in the Lion Rock Trophy. In the following season he was the dominant racehorse in Hong Kong, taking the Hong Kong Classic Mile, Hong Kong Classic Cup, Hong Kong Derby and Chairman's Trophy but sustained a fatal injury in the Champions Mile. He was posthumously named Hong Kong Horse of the Year.
