Hong Kong (Area Control Centre)
Hong Kong (Area Control Centre) is one of two key area control centres in the Pearl River Delta and is under the Hong Kong Civil Aviation Department. HK ACC is based out of the control tower at Hong Kong International Airport. From this ACC, air traffic controllers provide en route and terminal control services to aircraft in the Hong Kong Flight Information Region (FIR). The Hong Kong FIR airspace covers the waters off Hong Kong to the south, southeast and southwest. This does not include the airspace and immediate waters off the mainland China and Macau (under Guangzhou FIR). HK ACC does handle flight in and out of Macau International Airport. Area Control Center
In air traffic control, an area control center (ACC), also known as a center or en-route center, is a facility responsible for controlling aircraft flying in the airspace of a given flight information region (FIR) at high altitudes between airport approaches and departures. In the US, such a center is referred to as an air route traffic control center (ARTCC). A center typically accepts traffic from — and ultimately passes traffic to — the control of a Terminal control area, terminal control center or another center. Most centers are operated by the national governments of the countries in which they are located. The general operations of centers worldwide, and the boundaries of the airspace each center controls, are governed by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Chek Lap Kok
Chek Lap Kok is an island in the western waters of Hong Kong's New Territories. Unlike the smaller Lam Chau, it was only partially leveled when it was assimilated via land reclamation into the island for the current Hong Kong International Airport, which opened for commercial aviation in 1998. The airport is popularly referred to as ''Chek Lap Kok Airport'' to distinguish it from the former Hong Kong International Airport, now commonly known as Kai Tak Airport (). Hong Kong SkyCity, a business and entertainment complex, is also located on Chek Lap Kok. It includes AsiaWorld–Expo, a convention and exhibition centre, which opened in 2005. Dongsha Airport
Dongsha Airport is located on Pratas Island (Tungsha/Dongsha) in Cijin District of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Uni Air offers flights from Kaohsiung once per week each Thursday, however the service is only available for Coast Guard Administration staff. Since there are no refueling facilities within the airport, there is a limit of 56 passengers and 500 kilograms of cargo load per flight. The Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal ( pt, Terminal Marítimo de Passageiros do Porto Exterior; ), also known as the ''Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal'', ''Macau Ferry Terminal'' or ''Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Pier'' in Chinese (), is a ferry terminal located at Porto Exterior, Sé, Macau, China. Sek Kong Airfield
The Shek Kong Airfield (ICAO: VHSK), formerly Royal Air Force Station Sek Kong or Sek Kong Airfield, is an airfield (airbase) located in Shek Kong, New Territories, Hong Kong. The base currently houses air force units of People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison (PLAHKG), as well as being open for restricted civilian use during weekends. Pearl River Delta
The Pearl River Delta Metropolitan Region (PRD; ; pt, Delta do Rio das Pérolas (DRP)) is the low-lying area surrounding the Pearl River estuary, where the Pearl River flows into the South China Sea. Referred to as the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in official documents, the region is one of the most densely populated and urbanized regions in the world, and is considered a megacity by numerous scholars.
