Holger Hieronymus
Holger Hieronymus (born 22 February 1959) is a German former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Born in Hamburg, Hieronymus started his career with local side TuS Hamburg at the age of six and was a promising talent for the sweeper position when the then Hamburger SV general manager Günter Netzer snapped him up from local counterpart FC St. Pauli for DM 75,000 following Hamburger SV's Bundesliga title in 1979. The next Bundesliga season saw the technically gifted player playing his first games, being a starter in the European Cup final defeat of his side against Nottingham Forest at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium on 28 May 1980. Failing to claim the Bundesliga trophy of 1980 and 1981, on both occasions Hamburg finished second, Hieronymus won his first trophy in 1982 when Hamburg won the league. Hans-Jürgen Riediger
Hans Jürgen Riediger (born 20 December 1955) is a former footballer from East Germany. Riediger played for BFC Dynamo, scoring 105 goals / 196 DDR-Oberliga matches. He participated in 1976 Summer Olympics and received the gold medal. Career Born in Finsterwalde, Riediger began playing football at BSG Traktor Sonnewalde in 1964, played for BSG Motor Finsterwalde Süd from 1965 to 1970, and joined the youth academy of BFC Dynamo in August 1970. The striker came to prominence with 34 matches for the East German Junior team. He participated in XXVI.UEFA Turnire 1973. He scored goals for East Germany in the semi-final and the final. Ditmar Jakobs (born 28 August 1953) is a German former footballer who played as a defender. He played as a centre-back, a classical libero in the mold of Franz Beckenbauer or Willi Schulz. Jakobs played 493 games from 1971 to 1990 for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen, Tennis Borussia Berlin, MSV Duisburg, and Hamburger SV. With Hamburger SV, he won the 1987 DFB-Pokal. In 1982 and 1983, he became German champion and in 1983, he won the European Cup. Jakobs was a member of the Germany national team that was runner-up in the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico. From 1980 to 1986, he collected 20 caps for the team. Accident Jakobs' career ended prematurely on 20 September 1989 in a game between Hamburger SV and Werder Bremen. Josef "Jupp" Derwall (10 March 1927 – 26 June 2007) was a German professional football manager and player. He was head coach of the West Germany national team between 1978 and 1984, winning the UEFA Euro 1980 and reaching the final of the 1982 FIFA World Cup. Derwall's hairdo provided the basis for his nickname "Chieftain Silver Curl" (''Häuptling Silberlocke''). Playing career Derwall started in 1938 with Rhenania Würselen. Karlheinz Helmut Förster (born 25 July 1958) is a German former professional footballer who played as a central defender.
