Holding On (TV Series)
''Holding On'' is an eight-part British television drama series, created by screenwriter Tony Marchant (playwright), Tony Marchant, that first broadcast on BBC Two, BBC2 on 8 September 1997. The series follows the life of a seemingly unconnected group of people living in London, whose lives are strangely affected by the murder of a young woman in the city. While some of the group are able to take a newfound hope from the remains of the tragic event, others including food critic Gary Rickey (Phil Daniels) simply watch on as despair begins to unravel in the light of the aftermath. Proving popular with both critics and viewers alike, the series won a Royal Television Society award for Best Drama Serial in 1998. "Holdin' On (To the Love I Got)" is a song written by Billy Sherrill, Carmol Taylor and Tammy Wynette. It was originally recorded by American country music artist Tammy Wynette before being recorded again by Barbara Mandrell. Mandrell's version was released in September 1972 as the third from her album ''The Midnight Oil''. It was one of Mandrell's early single releases in her career and among her first to reach the top 40 on the American country songs chart. Infernal (occasionally stylized with metal umlaut as Infërnal) is a dance-pop group from Denmark, consisting of members Lina Rafn and Paw Lagermann. They made their Danish debut in 1997 with the release of the track "Sorti de L'enfer", and went on to international chart success in the 2000s. "Holding On" is the twenty-first episode of the eighth season of '' House'' and the 176th overall. It aired on May 14, 2012 on FOX. Plot The team takes on the case of Derrick (guest star Skylar Astin), a 19-year-old college student who had a mysterious nosebleed during cheerleading practice. As they search his room they find a hidden photograph of a young boy. The patient confesses it's a picture of his brother, who died ten years ago. He hid the picture from his mother, who has always refused to talk about the tragedy. The team thinks he might be suffering from schizophrenia, since Derrick claims to hear his deceased brother's voice in his head.
