Hiyani
''Hiyani'' () is a 2006 Maldivian revenge thriller film written and directed by Ahmed Nimal. Produced by Mohamed Abdulla under Dhekedheke Ves Productions, the film stars Niuma Mohamed, Ravee Farooq, Ahmed Nimal and Lufshan Shakeeb in pivotal roles. Shooting of the film took place in R. Inguraidhoo and R. Maduvvaree. Plot Despite her mother's consent, Shaina (Niuma Mohamed) marries to an old, wealthy businessman, Zahid (Ahmed Nimal since she was in need of money for her mother's medical treatments. Their marital satisfaction fades over time mostly due to the significant age gap between the partners. While Shaina continues believing in Zahid's affection, he enjoys finding comfort in other women's bed. To clear out their differences, Shaina and Zahid went to his island for few days and an intimacy was developed among them. Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. The film, heavily relied on the effect of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake on the Maldives, received favorable reviews from critics though it failed to perform financially. Niuma Mohamed
Niuma Mohamed (pronounced ; 20 October 1977) is a Maldivian film actress, director, and producer. The highest-paid actress in Maldives, Mohamed is the recipient of several awards, including two Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. She holds the record for collecting all three Maldives Film Awards for Best Actress in a feature film. In 2011, the Government of Maldives honoured her with the National Award of Recognition. Hussain Ali (26 January 1976) is a Maldivian singer. Early life and career Hussain Ali was born on 26 January 1976 in F. Nilandhoo. In 1996, he performed the track "Goanaa Kuree" for the album ''Shakuvaa'' which is considered as one of his earliest releases. Two years later, while working at Maldives National Defense Force, he joined the army's music band, Cops Band, and became a prominent performer in several shows and national events. Ahmed Nimal is a Maldivian actor, director, editor, writer and producer. Early life Prior to acting in films, Nimal worked at Maldives Meteorological Service office. His interest in films and acting grew due to the influence of his colleagues including Easa Shareef and other friends who actively take part in theatre plays. Career Nimal made his career debut with ''Nufoozu'' (1984), an initiation by Shareef and his colleagues. Initially assigned to work behind the camera, Shareef requested him to star in the lead role of the film due to a date conflict of the original actor who was offered the role first. Fauziyya Hassan
Fauziyya Hassan (8 January 1942 – 31 August 2022) was a Maldivian film actress. She made her film debut in ''Sidha'' in 1985. In 1994 she was arrested by the Indian police on espionage charges relating to the Indian Space Research Organisation. She and a friend were accused of passing sensitive defence information to Pakistan. The espionage case against Hassan was not proven and eventually other charges were dropped, though she spent three years in prison under the National Security Act. After her release Hassan appeared in a number of television dramas and films, including a run of horror films in the early 2000s. Mohamed Abdulla (6 December 1974) is a Maldivian film producer, actor and a politician. Career Acting career In his career, Abdulla starred in a limited feature films; ''Bulbulaa'' (1999) and Amjad Ibrahim's comedy drama film ''Majubooru Loabi'' (2000). Fazeela Amir (16 December 1969) is a Maldivian singer. Early life Fazeela Amir was born and raised in the "Amir family" where several artists including Ahmed Amir and Ibrahim Amir were brought up and "ruled" the music industry. She made her career debut with the album ''Hiyy Fahi'' where she lent her voice for eleven songs in the album.
