''His Royal Slyness'' is a 1920 American short comedy film featuring Harold Lloyd. It marked the final collaboration with frequent co-star Snub Pollard, who moved on to star in his own series of films following this release. This film was remade in 1927 as ''Long Fliv the King'' which featured Oliver Hardy. Plot The Prince of Razzamatazz is in America being educated. He receives a telegram telling him to travel to the Kingdom of Thermosa to vie with a drunken rival, the Prince of Roquefort, to marry "the fairest bud of the kingdom": Princess Florelle. The Prince of Razzamatazz is unhappy about this development because he would prefer to marry his female tutor, Verona Vermuth. When the tutor sees that an "American boy", a book agent, bears a striking resemblance to the prince, she convinces the American boy to take the prince's place. William Gillespie (24 January 1894 – 23 June 1938) was a Scottish actor. Biography Gillespie started in Hollywood films from the silent era. He played in about 180 films between 1915 and 1939, although his appearances were often uncredited. Gillespie frequently appeared in Hal Roach comedies from 1917, usually as stuffy official or manager. He supported such "slapstick comedians" as Charlie Chaplin, Charley Chase, Our Gang, and Laurel and Hardy, but was most prolific supporting Harold Lloyd in 60 films. Harold Lloyd Filmography
These are the known films of Harold Lloyd (1893–1971), an American actor and filmmaker most famous for his hugely successful and influential silent film comedies. Most of these films are known to survive in Lloyd's personal archive collection and in various film archives around the world. Some are also available on DVD or Blu-ray. The negatives of many of Lloyd's early short films were lost in a fire at his estate in 1943. The losses include five of the six Willie Work films, 53 of the 67 Lonesome Luke films, and 15 of the 81 one-reel Glasses character films. All of Lloyd's films from '' Bumping into Broadway'' (1919) onward exist in complete form in the archives. He carefully preserved his feature films, and they remain in excellent condition. All of the films are listed in order of release date.
