Hiroshi Kawaguchi (composer)
is a Japanese video game music composer and keyboardist who works for Sega. He is among the oldest of the Sega sound team members, and one of the few from the 1980s still active today. He joined Sega in 1984 as a programmer, but quit the job and became a composer the following year. He is also known as Hiro, Master Hiro (Hiro師匠) and Hiroshi Miyauchi (宮内 博史) (his pre-mukoyōshi name), and has been a part of both the S.S.T. Band and the sound unit . the latter of which he leads. He has also been a member of Chain Band, a hybrid between the groups .and Sonic Adventure Music Experience. Girl's Garden
is an action game developed and published by Sega for the SG-1000 console in 1985. The game follows a girl as she gathers flowers to win the love of a boy. It was the debut work of Sega programmers Yuji Naka and Hiroshi Kawaguchi. Naka went on to co-create the ''Sonic the Hedgehog'' series and Kawaguchi would later compose music for popular Sega arcade games. Gameplay ''Girl's Garden'' is an arcade-style action game. The player controls a young girl named Papri as she collects flowers to win the affection of a boy. ''Dynamite Düx'' is a beat 'em up video game developed by Sega AM2 and released by Sega for arcades in 1988. Power Drift
is a kart racing game released in arcades by Sega in 1988. More technologically advanced than Sega's earlier 2.5D racing games, like ''Hang-On'' (1985) and ''Out Run'' (1986), in ''Power Drift'' the entire world and track consist of sprites. The upgraded hardware of the Sega Y Board allows individual sprites and the background to be rotated–even while being scaled–making the visuals more dynamic. is a 1986 arcade game by Sega, and the first game in the ''Fantasy Zone'' series. It was later ported to a wide variety of consoles, including the Master System. The player controls a sentient spaceship named Opa-Opa who fights an enemy invasion in the titular group of planets. The game was originally released in the short-lived Sega Card format, but was re-released on cartridge. Plot The player controls Mick, a young vampire hunter out to destroy five vampires (or "Draculas" as the instruction book calls them) in each stage before proceeding to the next. The Lost Stars
The Lost Fleet is a military science fiction series written by John G. Hemry under the pen name Jack Campbell. The series is set one-hundred-plus years into an interstellar war between two different human cultures, the Alliance and the Syndics. The protagonist of the story is discovered floating in a suspended animation escape pod one hundred years after he made an "heroic last stand" against an enemy fleet. In his absence, he has been made into a renowned hero in the Alliance, but his legend and actions are used to justify poor tactics and decisions. Awakened after being discovered during a secret mission that turns out to be an enemy trap, he is suddenly dropped into the role of fleet commander and expected to live up to the legend that has grown around him. ''Pit Pot'' is a video game developed by Sega for the Master System. The Japanese version was released in 1985 and the export version in 1986. It was only released as a combo with ''Astro Warrior'' in a double cart in the United States and European regions but was released as a stand-alone game in Japan. Gameplay The player is introduced to the game with a short cut scene showing that a princess has been kidnapped and held captive inside a castle by an evil witch. The players mission is to enter the castle and rescue the princess. In order to successfully rescue her, the following items must be found: a cross to prevent her from turning into a witch, a potion to wake her up, and a ring to get her to marry the player. Yoji Ishii
previously known as is a video game development team within the Japanese multinational video game developer Sega. Yu Suzuki, who had previously developed arcade games for Sega including ''Hang-On'' and ''Out Run'', was the first manager of the department. AM2's first game produced was 1992's ''Virtua Racing'', followed by the highly popular ''Virtua Fighter'' and ''Daytona USA''.
