Him Bahadur Shahi ( ne, हिम बहादुर शाही) is a Nepali politician of Nepali Congress and Minister for Social Development in Karnali government since 6 February 2022. He is also serving as member of the Karnali Province Provincial Assembly. Shahi was elected to the assembly from 2017 provincial assembly elections through proportional list of the party. The Provincial Assembly of Karnali Province also known as the Karnali Pradesh Sabha, (Nepali: कर्णाली प्रदेश सभा) is a unicameral governing and law making body of Karnali Province, one of the seven provinces in Nepal The assembly is seated in the provincial capital at Birendranagar in Surkhet District at the Irrigation Division Office. 2017 Nepalese Provincial Elections
Provincial assembly elections were held in Nepal on 26 November and 7 December 2017 along with the general election. 330 seats in the seven newly created provincial assemblies were elected by first-past-the-post voting and 220 by proportional representation. The election was part of Nepal's transformation to a federal republic. Next Election will be held in 2022 unless dissolved earlier without completing the five years term. 2022 Nepalese provincial election will be the second election for provinces after completion of tenure of five years.
