Hillhead Jordanhill RFC
Hillhead Jordanhill Rugby Football Club (HJRFC) is a Scottish rugby union club based in Glasgow, Scotland. HJRFC has roots going as far back as 1904 with the formation of the Hillhead Sports Club, however, the rugby club as we know it today was founded in 1988 with a Women's section added in 1995, they have played at their current home ground, Hughenden in the West End of Glasgow since then. Despite their name, the club is not located in either Hillhead or Jordanhill, although the pre-merger clubs did have historical links with these areas. Hughenden is located in Hyndland beside Great Western Road. Richie Dixon
Richie Dixon (born c. 1947) is a former rugby union footballer, the former head coach of the Scotland national team, the Georgia national team and Glasgow Caledonians (now known as Glasgow Warriors). He was head of Physical Education at Currie High School in Edinburgh from 1972 until 1980. Playing career Amateur career Born in Chirnside, Berwickshire, Dixon played for Jordanhill. Provincial career As a rugby player he was to captain Glasgow District; the side that was later to become the Glasgow Warriors on professionalism. He started off playing on the Wing or Centre for Glasgow. Later in his career, he made the switch to Flanker and represented Glasgow there too. It was thought that this utility factor negatively influenced his chances of a senior Scotland cap. Bill Dickinson (1917 – 7 April 1994) was a Scottish rugby union player and coach. Aaron Collins (born 25 June 1971 in New Zealand) is a New Zealand rugby union player and now coach. He normally played at the Centre position; and previously played for Glasgow Warriors and Glasgow Academicals and West of Scotland. Glasgow City Sevens is an annual rugby sevens tournament held by Cartha Queens Park, in Dumbreck in the south side of Glasgow. The tournament was previously known as the Cartha Sevens and the Cartha Queens Park Sevens. History The first rugby sevens tournament started by Cartha RFC took place in April 1935 and continued for the following two years. After a break around the Second World War period the Sevens were reintroduced in 1950 and in has been played in all the subsequent years. The tournament became known as the Cartha Queens Park Sevens on the merger of Cartha and Queens Park F.P. in 1974. The tournament has been called the Glasgow City Sevens since 2005. Glasgow Warriors are a professional rugby union side from Scotland. The team plays in the United Rugby Championship league and in the European Professional Club Rugby tournaments.
