Hillerstorp
Hillerstorp is a locality (tätort) situated in Gnosjö Municipality, Jönköping County, Sweden with 1,766 inhabitants in 2010. About 40% of the companies in Gnosjö municipality are located in Hillerstorp. There are various small industries in the town. About 9 km south of Hillerstorp, there is a small but nationally renowned amusement park called High Chaparral Theme Park (named after the American Western-themed TV series aired on NBC) offering, among others, the steam train rides and the American Old West experiences. Gnosjö Municipality
Gnosjö Municipality (''Gnosjö kommun'') is a municipality in Jönköping County, southern Sweden where the town Gnosjö is seat. The Swedish local government reform of 1952 formed this municipality out if five former entities, and it has not been amalgamated with others since then. About half of the municipal population live in Gnosjö town, the rest is spread between smaller localities, and rural areas. Gnosjö is referred to as the centre of the Gnosjö region which is an area of enterprising small industries, driven by the distinctive "Gnosjö Spirit". High Chaparral Theme Park
High Chaparral is a Wild West theme park and post-industrial museum of cultural artifacts and collectibles, located close to Värnamo, Sweden. It opened in 1966 and was founded by Bengt Erlandsson, more commonly known as "Big Bengt". The park is located near Hillerstorp in Gnosjö Municipality and is close to E4 motorway and Swedish national road 27. Big Bengt, the founder Bengt Erlandsson was born in 1922 in Brännehylte, Småland, Sweden. His parents owned a forest farm and a saw mill. His interest in the American frontier and Wild West was born from coming from a countryside where many had emigrated to America and from the stories they told. ''The High Chaparral'' television series, which was broadcast on NBC from 1967 to 1971, is an American Western action adventure drama set in the 1870s. It stars Leif Erickson and Cameron Mitchell.
