Hiiy Edhenee
''Hiiy Edhenee'' is a 2001 Maldivian romantic drama film directed by Aishath Ali Manik. Produced under EMA Productions, the film stars Asad Shareef, Sheela Najeeb, Ali Seezan and Niuma Mohamed in pivotal roles. The film was an unofficial remake of Dharmesh Darshan's romantic film ''Dhadkan'' (2000) Premise Sheleen Yoosuf (Sheela Najeeb), a young woman who hails from an extremely rich and influential family is romantically linked up with Shaheen ( Asad Shareef), a very poor man. When Sheleen comes to her parents with the proposal of marrying Shaheen, she is rebuked and gets an outright refusal for his bad manners and arrogant outlook. Instead they arranged her marriage with a boy from a respected family, Vishal Amir (Ali Seezan) whom Sheleen finally marries to keep her parents happy. Easa Shareef
Easa Shareef is a Maldivian film director, actor, screen-writer, editor and lyricist. Career In 1993, Shareef collaborated with Yoosuf Rafeeu for his tragedy drama film '' Vaudhu'' (1993) which narrates the separation of a happy couple due to the societal differences. The following year, he directed and starred in the critically acclaimed film '' Zakham'' (1994) where he played the supportive brother of a young girl who has been forced to marry out of her will. In 1996, he directed the film '' Edhuvas Hingajje'' which follows the love triangle of a devoted wife, a reckless husband and his short tempered mistress. This was followed by Yoosuf Rafeeu's award winning film ''Haqqu'' which revolves around a man who is forced to marry a woman against his will, and stars Mariyam Nisha, Reeko Moosa Manik and Mariyam Shakeela in lead roles. Suneetha Ali
Suneetha Ali (born 28 May 1977) is a Maldivian choreographer, actress and producer. Early life Suneetha Ali was born on 28 May 1977 in Aa. Ukulhas. Her father, is a fisherman while her mother is a homemaker. Ali spent most of her childhood, in a melodramatic environment, dancing to the tunes of songs from Bollywood. After her failed marriage, Ali, at the age of fourteen, relocated to Male' where she got exposed to the stage shows and music performances. Gaumee Film Awards
The Gaumee Film Awards aka Dhivehi Film Awards are presented by National Centre for the Arts to honour both artistic and technical excellence of professionals in the Maldivian film industry. The Gaumee Film Award ceremony is the oldest film events in Maldives. The ceremony had been sponsored by various private organisations in the past as well as in present provisions. A live ceremony was broadcast to television audiences. History A meeting was arranged at MCM on 30 October 1993, once the government decides to hold a Film Festival to honor the film industry. Abdul Baaree
Abdul Bari Aboobakur commonly spelled as Abdul Baree (20 March 1967) is a former Maldivian singer. Career In 1990, Baaree started performing in the "Aksheeba" shows without any charge, which helped in gaining recognition from music lovers. Abdul Hannan Moosa Didi (13 June 1959) is a Maldivian singer, music composer and producer. Early life and career At the age of seventeen, Didi started performing casually with his friends which helped him develop self-confidence and improve his singing capabilities. Aishath Gulfa is a Maldivian film actress. She made her screen debut in 1999 with the video single "Nala Nala Dhanvaru Feni".
