History The predecessor of the province was Vyborg Governorate, which was established in 1744 from territories ceded by the Swedish Empire to Russia in 1721 (Treaty of Nystad) and in 1743 (Treaty of Åbo). Better known abroad than in Finland, her poetry, characterized as feminist humor, was discovered in the 1980s in Europe. Hiisi (; plural ''hiidet'' ) is a term in Finnic mythologies, originally denoting sacred localities and later on various types of mythological entities. Kuznechnoye (russian: Кузне́чное; fi, Kaarlahti) is an urban locality (an urban-type settlement) in the northern part of Priozersky District of Leningrad Oblast, located on the Karelian Isthmus. Population: History The village of Kaarlahti was known since at least the 16th century and belonged interchangeably to Russia and Sweden.
