''High Water II'' is the second studio album by American band The Magpie Salute. It was released on October 18, 2019 under Provogue Records in the UK and Eagle Records elsewhere. Chart performance ''High Water II'' debuted at number 1 on the UK Official Charts Company's Jazz & Blues albums on October 25, 2019. It also peaked at number 154 on Ultratop's Wallonia charts, number 63 in Germany, number 24 in Scotland, and number 77 in Switzerland. Critical reception ''High Water II'' was met with "generally favorable" reviews from critics. At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream publications, this release received an average score of 74, based on 6 reviews. The Magpie Salute
The Magpie Salute is an American rock band formed in 2016 by the Black Crowes guitarist Rich Robinson. The band also includes former Black Crowes members Marc Ford and Sven Pipien and Moke singer/songwriter John Hogg, as well as Rich Robinson band members Matt Slocum and Joe Magistro. History Rich Robinson announced the formation of the Magpie Salute in October 2016. In addition to Robinson, the group features UK singer John Hogg, former Black Crowes guitarist Marc Ford and bassist Sven Pipien, as well as keyboardists Matt Slocum, drummer Joe Magistro, and vocalists Adrien Reju and Katrine Ottosen from Robinson's solo band. John Hogg; songwriter and singer of Moke and songwriting partner on Robinsons’ Hookah Brown, was invited to support Rich on his 2015 tour in Europe and the UK. Alison Maria Krauss (born July 23, 1971) is an American bluegrass-country singer and musician. She entered the music industry at an early age, competing in local contests by the age of 8 and recording for the first time at 14. She signed with Rounder Records in 1985 and released her first solo album in 1987. She was invited to join the band with which she still performs, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and later released her first album with them as a group in 1989. Rich Robinson
Richard Spencer Robinson (born May 24, 1969) is an American musician and founding member of the rock and roll band the Black Crowes. Along with older brother Chris Robinson, Rich formed the band in 1984 (originally called ''Mr. Crowes Garden'') while the two were attending Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia. At age 15, Rich wrote the music for "She Talks to Angels", which became one of the band's biggest hits. Biography Early life Robinson was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in the East Cobb County/Marietta suburbs of Atlanta. He is the son of Nancy Jane (née Bradley) and Stanley "Stan" Robinson. His father's single, "Boom-A-Dip-Dip", was No. 83 on the 1959 Billboard charts. The Black Crowes The first incarnation of what would become the Black Crowes appeared as early as 1984.
