Bayswater
Bayswater is an area within the City of Westminster in West London. It is a built-up district with a population density of 17,500 per square kilometre, and is located between Kensington Gardens to the south, Paddington to the north-east, and Notting Hill to the west. Much of Bayswater was built in the 1800s, and consists of streets and garden squares lined with Victorian stucco terraces; some of which have been subdivided into flats. Other key developments include the Grade II listed 650-flat Hallfield Estate, designed by Sir Denys Lasdun, and Queensway and Westbourne Grove, its busiest high streets, with a mix of independent, boutique and chain retailers and restaurants. Bayswater Road
Bayswater Road is the main road running along the northern edge of Hyde Park in London. Originally part of the A40 road, it is now designated part of the A402 road. Route In the east, Bayswater Road originates at Marble Arch roadway at the Marble Arch junction, and at its western end it continues into Notting Hill Gate. It is mostly within the City of Westminster but a small portion of the road's western end lies in Kensington and Chelsea. History The road is part of the Via Trinobantia, an old Roman Road, later becoming a turnpike road. It had become known as Bayswater Road by the 1860s. Laleshwar Singh
Laleshwar Kumar Narayan Singh (born 2 April 1941) was from 1993 to 2015 High Commissioner from the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Kingdom, as well as the non-resident ambassador in five other countries. After studying law in Guyana, and training as a court clerk, he moved to work in the United Kingdom in 1961. From 1971 to 1993 he worked for the Magistrates' Courts Service in central London. In 1993 he was appointed the High Commissioner (Commonwealth) for Guyana in London, as well as the (non-resident) ambassador to the Netherlands. He has since been appointed non-resident ambassador to France and the Russian Federation (1995), the Czech Republic (1997) and the Holy See (1998). In 2018, Hamley Case replaced Singh as the new high commissioner and non-resident ambassador for various European countries.
