Gustav Von Der Heyde
Gustav Ludwig Theodor von der Heyde (1836–1891) was a 19th-century German-born Auckland businessman. In 1874, he became the Member of Parliament for the Waitemata electorate in Auckland, New Zealand. Biography Von der Heyde was born in Bremen in 1834, the eldest son of a businessman. He emigrated to Australia in 1854, working at the Bremen Consulate in Adelaide from 1858 to 1860. Upon the death of John Macfarlane, Von der Heyde became one of the directors of the Henderson & Macfarlane shipping and logging company. From 1870 to 1874, Von der Heyde was the chairman of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce. In 1871, he was elected to the Waitakerei East Highways District Board, and was a member of the Auckland Harbour Board from 1871 to 1874. He represented the Waitemata electorate in , which was called after the resignation of Thomas Henderson on 12 June 1874. Werner Heyde
Werner Heyde (aka Fritz Sawade) (25 April 1902 – 13 February 1964) was a German psychiatrist. He was one of the main organizers of Nazi Germany's T-4 Euthanasia Program. Early life Heyde was born in Forst (Lausitz), on May 25, in 1902, and completed his Abitur in 1920. From 1922-1925, he studied medicine in Berlin, Freiburg, Marburg, Rostock and Würzburg and after short placements at the General Hospital in Cottbus and the sanatorium Berlin-Wittenau became assistant doctor at the ''Universitätsnervenklinik'' (university psychiatric hospital) in Würzburg. He obtained his licence to practice medicine in 1926, having completed all courses throughout his studies with top marks. Career until 1945 In 1933, Heyde made the acquaintance of Theodor Eicke, and became a member of the NSDAP. One year later, he was appointed director of the polyclinic in Würzburg. Maria Heyde
Maria Elisabeth Heyde, née Hartmann, (19 April 1837 in Paramaribo - 6 April 1917 in Schönebeck) was a Surinamese-born German missionary, diarist and translator. Life Heyde was the daughter of Johann Gottlieb Hartmann and Maria Hartmann, German Moravian missionaries who were based in Suriname. At the age of seven, the family moved to Germany, where Maria attended the Moravian Brethren boarding school in Kleinwelka. After finishing her studies she began a post teaching at the same school. At the age of 22, Heyde travelled to Tibet (now northern India) with missionary August Wilhelm Heyde, whom she married in Kyelang, in Lahaul province, now Himachal Pradesh in November 1859. The couple settled in Kyelang and raised a family with three children (four had died). Frequently alone with the locals, with her husband off on long missionary journeys, Heyde learned to speak and write in Tibetan. Christopher Charles Heyde AM (20 April 1939, in Sydney – 6 March 2008, in Canberra) was a prominent Australian statistician who did leading research in probability, stochastic processes and statistics. Heyde was a professor at Columbia University, the University of Melbourne, CSIRO, University of Manchester, University of Sheffield, Michigan State University, and The Australian National University, Canberra. In 2008, Heyde died of metastatic melanoma. Erich von der Heyde (1 May 1900 – 5 August 1984)''Industrie-Anzeiger'' Nr. 75 vom 19. 9. 1984/106, p. 63. was a German agronomist at IG Farben, an SS-''Hauptscharführer'' and a defendant at the IG Farben Trial in Nuremberg. Life Erich von der Heyde was born on 1 May 1900 in Hong Kong, then a British colony. The von der Heyde family moved to Germany in 1906, where he attended school in Bremen and Weimar until May 1918. He served in the military until the end of World War I, after which he studied agronomy for five years at the Technische Universität München. In 1925, he worked for a hailstorm insurance company. He changed jobs in 1926, joining the agricultural department of IG Farben in Ludwigshafen. In 1934, he joined the SS mounted unit, the ''Reitersturm'', and left it in 1936.
