Hermann Schützenhöfer
Hermann Schützenhöfer (; born 29 February 1952) was governor of the Austrian province Styria from 2015 until 2022 and chairman of the Styrian People's Party (STVP/ÖVP) from 2006 until 2022. Personal life Schützenhöfer grew up in Edlitz in Lower Austria. In 1966, Schützenhöfer's family moved back to Kirchbach in Styria, where Schützenhöfer completed compulsory school with the polytechnical year. He became an apprentice in a grocery store and wrote articles as a local journalist for the ''Kleine Zeitung'', the ''Sonntagspost'' and the Styrian youth magazine ''Horizont'' (= "Horizon" - a media organ of the Junge Volkspartei). He is married to Marianne, and has two grown-up children. Political activities Schützenhöfer then entered politics in 1970 and became director of the Styrian Young People's Party (JVP) and in 1976 chairman of JVP Styria. Werner Faymann
Werner Faymann (; born 4 May 1960) is an Austrian former politician who was Chancellor of Austria and chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Austria (SPÖ) from 2008 to 2016. On 9 May 2016, he resigned from both positions amid widening criticism within his party. Early and personal life Werner Faymann was born in Vienna and also attended grammar school there. After graduating from grammar school he enrolled at the University of Vienna (jurisprudence, political science, and history of art). Faymann is Roman Catholic. He is in his second marriage and has two children. Career In 1981, Faymann became provincial chairman of the Socialist Youth Vienna (Sozialistische Jugend Wien). The University of Leoben (German: ''Montanuniversität Leoben'') in Austria is the country's university for mining, metallurgy and materials. It was founded on 4 November 1840 as the ''Steiermärkisch-Ständische Montanlehranstalt'' in Vordernberg, Styria, Austria's mining region. Waltraud Klasnic (née Tschiltsch, born 27 October 1945) is an Austrian politician who was (governor) of Styria from 1996 until 2005. Politics Klasnic joined the women's organisation of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) in 1970. She was appointed to the Federal Council in 1977, remaining a member until 1981 when she was elected to the Styrian Landtag. After the previous of Styria Josef Krainer junior resigned due to a disappointing election performance, Klasnic was elected as his successor by the Landtag on 23 January 1996. She was the first, and at the time only, female governor of any Austrian state. Following a loss in the October 2005 Styrian state election Klasnic resigned from the state government. Christian Kern (; born 4 January 1966) is an Austrian businessman and former politician who served as Chancellor of Austria from 17 May 2016 to 18 December 2017 and chairman of the Social Democratic Party from 25 June 2016 to 25 September 2018.
